Disinformation from AP. The Republican Party rarely if ever backs one Republican candidate against another before the primary or convention is over. Only after a single candidate is selected for a position will the Party endorse the candidate. Trump is starting against a new field and has a good advantage and lots of backing but it is way too early to expect an endorsement.

The purpose of the primary is to determine who the party will support. Faking a primary is what Hillary did to Sanders.
