Biden’s Energy Nominee Divvied Millions In Taxpayer Funds To Alternative Energy Startups That Went Bankrupt

President Joe Biden’s nominee to head the Department of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, divvied out millions in taxpayer funds during her two terms as Michigan governor to alternative energy companies that eventually went bankrupt.

In one instance, Granholm’s administration provided a $9.1 million refundable tax credit to a renewable energy company registered to the address of a single-wide trailer and run by a convicted embezzler named Richard Short. Short was found to be in violation of his parole and sent back to prison after appearing on stage with Granholm in 2010 to accept assistance from the Michigan Economic Growth Authority, according to Michigan Capitol Confidential.

Granholm also granted $10 million to an electric car battery manufacturer, A123 Systems, in 2009 and lauded the company in a press conference, saying it would help “make Michigan the alternative energy capital of North America and the advanced battery capital of the world.”

A123 Systems, which also received a $249.12 million federal grant by the Obama administration, filed for bankruptcy in 2012. The company is still in operation today as a subsidiary of a Chinese firm, Wanxiang America.

Let me guess. Those bankrupt companies managed to get some DNC donations in before folding, right?

So the pols steer grant money to the startups, who keep part and steer part back to the pols, after which the startup goes under. CEOs make money, pols make money, taxpayers get F'd.

Also known as money laundering.

He’s returning with all the failed policies of obama, clinton and carters terms. Expect many more solyndra’s, cash for clunkers, community reinvestment act and so forth. This time, those policies will not lead to just high gas prices, a surrender on the world stage, high interest rates, high interest rates, etc....this time they are playing for all the marbles and will take this once Blessed country over the cliff.

Bad judgment rewarded once again.

And with much more being drizzled away this time.

There is an answer for providing energy to the consuming public, both cheaply and in an environmentally friendly manner. Wind power and Solar power are both unreliable for base-line power supply, and expensive to set up on any large scale. Every kilowatt of energy that is supposed to come from these sources has to be backed up by a reliable source, like natural gas or hydroelectric power plants, while ignoring the very real advantages of converting to Thorium-fueled Molten Salt power generation plants. There is a dread superstition surrounding all of the promises of cheap electricity from atomic fission reactors, that was supposed to be so cheap back in the 1950’s that electricity would not even have to be metered, just a flat distribution fee for all users.

Well that never came true, but while it was in use, atomic plants could be run 24/7/365 at full capacity to provide a baseline power supply at all times.

Until Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. The movie “China Syndrome” was purely hypothetical, failure never happened that way, but as a propaganda piece against the use of atomic power, it was definitive.

All the old atomic plants all over the world are being retired, with no replacements in sight. But the Thorium-fueled Molten Salt atomic piles, which counter just about every objection ever raised against the Uranium-fueled Light Water plants, while in a stage of development that would enable their wide adoption, are subjected to the same critical scorn as the earlier atomic power plants.

Superstition is a powerful thing.

CLUE: that’s how those elected officials in DC get rich by looting our treasury. They give, send or grant money to a fake cause that they call “worthy” and then reap the kickbacks and there’s enough for everybody complicit in the crime gets rich off of it. $30 trillion in debt and counting and it continues to skyrocket everyday.

The country is being sacked. When the treasury is exhausted, they will borrow us in to bankruptcy. These are our last days.

“...all power generated by the Crescent Dunes project in the next 25 years would have been sold to NV Energy for $0.135 per kilowatt-hour....”

My home marginal cost of electricity is $0.07 [generation and transmission]
