Trump created a new conservatism. Now its our job to nurture it.
Back in the early days of the Donald Trump phenomenon, whenever he supposedly got out of line a recurring joke about him was, “But he fights.” The pundits laughed. The poor rubes suckered by Trump were supposedly taken in by some canard that he was a fighter. But the fact is he was, he won a lot of those fights, and his voters are better off for those wins.
When the spurious allegations of long past sexual misconduct from now Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh emerged, conventional wisdom said his nomination was over. Pre-Trump, that would have been exactly right. He would have been thrown under the bus in the time it took a Sandy Koufax fastball to reach the plate. It was the smart play. But instead Trump fought.
Moving the American embassy to Jerusalem, as U.S. presidents have promised for, well nigh my whole life and never delivered on, was accomplished. This was supposedly going to retard the prospects of peace in the Middle East. Instead, Trump achieved the historic normalization of relations between Israel and several Arab states. That happened because he fought.
Since the late 1980s we have assumed that opening trade to communist China would liberate the repressive state there. We did that even after Tiananmen Square. It didn’t work. We now have a China even more committed to repressing its people. Our workers lost out over those decades of acquiescence to China. Trump started a trade war. He fought.
The pro-transgender movement has now convinced the left there is no difference between a biological man and a biological woman. Joe Biden signed an executive order making sure that girls have to compete against boys in sports. Trump ordered the exact opposite of this, compelling the federal government to respect the scientific idea of biological sex. He fought.
Against all odds, Trump reduced American troop levels overseas, especially in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. He protected our soldiers. He proved something that seemed almost impossible: the idea that a sitting president doesn’t have to start new wars. In less than a week, Biden is increasing troop levels overseas. Trump fought.
Our public schools are teaching our kids a version of American history that leads them to believe ours is a horrible nation, rife with racism and in need of radical reform. Trump knew that isn’t true. He commissioned thinkers to create the 1776 Commission to reform this horrible left turn. Biden erased that effort in his first days in office. Again, Trump fought.
I probably used the “but he fights” line back when I feared Trump was a great threat to the republic. You’d have to check my Twitter account. But I was wrong. It’s not actually a joke. He really did fight for things that are remarkably important when far too many in the Republican Party just let them slide. Trump spoke for me and my ideas and the ideas of millions of Americans.
Conservatives aren’t supposed to fight. We are supposed to go gently into that dark night of leftist hegemony and just hope our Norman Rockwell prints aren’t confiscated and cancelled. No. David French and Jonah Goldberg can keep doing that for whoever reads them anymore, but conservatives will not. We will keep up Trump’s fight.
When William F. Buckley annunciated movement conservatism, he said things like “Nominate the most electable conservative” and “Stand athwart history yelling stop!” These were incredibly defensive positions. In retrospect, maybe making George Will’s bow tie the avatar for a conservatism that ceded cultural ground at every turn was a mistake.
Trump invited the American people to fight back. We can argue over whether he was a carnival clown, but as the examples above show, it was wildly successful. There is no going back. Biden’s cavalcade of leftist wish list executive orders shows exactly where we are. Democrats don’t desire a détente, they desire domination. Over you, over your kids, over your community.
Unlike Buckley, Trump appeals to working-class and minority voters, and makes an effort to earn their votes. Unlike Buckley, Trump does not simply assume we are losing and trying to slow it down. He wants to win. And, yeah, he lost. He fought, but he lost.
Now it’s our fight. Now it is our responsibility to save the country. Who’s with me?
Time for a new party....Trump new voters will never vote GOP without him...

Not going to play word games. There is nothing excluded from the term “battlespace”. If it is of military significance.....it gets defined and included in the planning.

Fair enough. The real battlefield is the hearts and minds of the common man.

In military planning, the terrain in the battlespace would be people; the intelligence planning would be the data set needed for psyops/infowar. That is a different but supporting Field Manual, 3-05.301
Can anyone come up with a good reason why we should trust this (our) government, the failed judicial system or the military which could have prevented a take over by the communist inspired left, and let this country be stolen right from under heir noses?
Here we had a president who worked tireless to turn this country around from the effects of his predecessors and matter of fact he accomplished more in his four short years than all three former presidents combined. A list of his accomplishments about forty-eight pages long are available to any interested party, courtesy by the government. I wonder for how much longer as his opponents are hell bent on erasing anything and everything pointing to his achievements. Just to mention a few, here are some.
One of the best economies this country has seen for ages. Wage increases for just about everyone. Lower taxes. Lowest unemployment. More people off government aid. Cutting back on rules and restrictions. He did not start any wars. Brought many of our soldiers home. Increased our respect in the world community, which the last clown in office ran into the ground by running around and apologizing to everyone who was willing to lend him an ear. Trying to put and end to the climate hoax. Improving the condition in our Veterans hospitals which had been run down, these are just a few of the many things he had done. Not to mention building a wall to keep illegal invaders and drug runners out.
You would think that any person in his or her right mind would be forever grateful for what he has given to this nation for very little or nothing in return. And what does the socialist portion of this nation do, leave no stone unturned, including cheating along with coming up with boatloads of fraudulent votes to drive him out of office. And adding insult to injury, even a good number of corrupt hypocritical members of his own party joined ranks with the corrupt left.
When an appeal was made to our judicial system, including the highest court of the land they turned a deaf ear to that request. In other words justice has taken a leave of absence, once this happens a train wreck not too far down the road is more likely than not. And finally the military could have said enough is enough and stepped in and saved the day. But whatever is behind his ploy apparently got to the military as well. If all this doesn’t sound like a well orchestrated takeover or conspiracy plot I wonder what does?
It is a damn shame what is happening to this once great country, but eventually stupidity takes its toll voting for the wrong things too many times. It is just too bad that the new and next generation hasn’t even begun to realize what they are in the process of losing.
The only tweet or remark of Trump's that I thought was unfortunate was the one about McCain being captured:
“He was a war hero because he was captured,” Trump said at the Family Leadership Summit, in Ames, Iowa. “I like people who weren’t captured.”
I despised McCain and I get what he meant, but it was phrased poorly and implies that people who were captured were to blame. It probably lost Trump a lot of RINO support.

While political parties ideally represent the common interests of their members, a contradiction has developed within the GOP over the past twenty years. Leadership and rank-and-file members work toward irreconcilable ends: the retention of power, wealth and status at any cost on the one hand, and change that restores economic prosperity and social cohesion on the other.
For years, GOP leadership worked handily with democrat leaders Obama, Pelosi, Reid. Behind closed doors, this common senior leadership develops many thousand page omnibus spending bills. In turn, these assaults on the traditional appropriations process are presented to a membership that is cajoled and threatened. No time is allowed for committee examination. Members are expected to march in lockstep with leaders and vote for that which they haven’t even read.

Conservatives have variously called for a real opposition party. Well, one exists. It is right in front of us. The fifty member states of the American Union have distinct interests from those of the Uniparty. They have sovereign powers, those which they did not grant to the government they created in 1788. They are fully capable of policing their environment, dealing with labor unions, taking care of their poor, etc. without the heavy hand of a distant, detached, and hostile Rome like city-state operated by and for a self-serving Uniparty.
To effect real opposition to our fast developing one-party government, the states must return to the senate. Repeal the 17th Amendment. This is not a radical idea. Their presence once again will bust the Uniparty monopoly on power, reverse the tyranny and start the United States down the path toward free government.
