This list is based on the availability of the Sacraments in the traditional rites, homeschooling laws, and coronavirus regulations.
As the Biden regime teases another national lockdown and Americans worry about their civil liberties and the basic right to peaceably assemble, the divide between blue and red states is becoming increasingly obvious. The following is a list of what I think are some of the best and worst states for pro-life Catholics and freedom-loving Americans, based on the availability of the Sacraments in the traditional rites, homeschooling laws, and coronavirus regulations.
These rankings are based on publicly available data and anecdotal information. This list should also not be taken as suggesting that these are the only good or easy places to live as a Catholic or pro-lifer; in addition to the need to evangelize rabidly secular places, many people are unable to relocate because of jobs or family. And of course, even in the darkest of places, there are still little pockets of light where families can carve out a safe community, live the faith, and educate their children. There are also likely some big positives to living in states not on this list.
Best: South Dakota, Florida, and Idaho
South Dakota
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has made a name for herself as a rising star in the GOP. She never shut down her state because of the coronavirus outbreak. There is no statewide “mask mandate” (although individual businesses and local jurisdictions, as is the case all around the country, try to force people to wear masks) and the economy is thriving.

Florida!!!!!!! Yes! Love my state. Exceptional! Living in a red city, in a red county, in a red district, in a red state is awesome.
Ditto!
Long time resident......
Love it!
Plus no state income tax!
Florida!!
Don’t leave out all the entertainment provided by articles that begin with “Florida Man”.
Looks like it would be a *itch to till that to plant taters.
Ironically, these same criteria would completely reverse these “best” and “worst” states in leftist publications.
What has me moving out of Florida soon is the thought that it could all go away in the next election. DeSantis has drawn too much attention to himself by being a competent conservative leader, so you know he’s got a target on his back now - expect the left to go all out to destroy him and/or get him out of office in 2022.
People forget how close we came to electing Gillum in 2018, which would have been a disaster (he’d be competing with Newsom in California over who could make his citizens the most miserable) - Florida is not a solid red state.
“...Americans were flocking to Idaho...”
Idaho will switch to the “worst” column when it reaches critical mass. Note that the “worst” states are also the worst under what passes for normal times these days.
Washington DC is not a state but rather an African Municipality. Think Zimbabwe on the Potomac where the mayor has visions of gubernatorial black grandeur
Big time true!
WHY would you move now and where would you move to .
Doesn’t make sense!
Thank goodness DeSantis speaks out
What you’re saying could happen anywhere, any time
Yes both races were close. We are a hairs throw from losing it all. I’m just hopeful that voters like what DeSantis is doing. They only have one competitive player and that’s nikki fried. We’ll see. Time will tell.
Being a Floridian, I can tell you that the biggest “down side” of living in Florida is that it is too crowded. Traffic is intolerable.
It’s so bad, we’re selling our home in once-sleepy St. Petersburg and moving to TN. The traffic is not only a huge inconvenience, it’s an outright, life-threatening nightmare in an evacuation (hurricane) situation.
Hooray for Florida! We sure are glad to be here during the current climate.
All these states will be blue in ten years.....you will be invaded by the fleeing democrats and there is nothing you can do.....
Good example Colorado
DC Should consist of ONLY the Capital, USSC building, 4 executive office buildings, the Mall, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and the Smithsonian Buildings ONLY. There should be no residences in DC...just office buildings, memorials, and monuments.
