... Joe Biden on Tuesday signed four executive actions pertaining to racial equity, including phasing out the use of private prisons at the federal level.
"We have never fully lived up to the founding principles of this nation, to state the obvious, that all people are created equal and have a right to be treated equally throughout their lives," Biden said just before signing the actions. ...

Private prison populations comprise about 10% of the prison population and, with a habit of rejecting high-cost inmates, are the most fit of prisoners. While Biden not so subtly hints that the problems with prisons is race, it could be argued that the hormones of youth and physical fitness of those prisoners is much more causative of violence in private prisons than race issues.
But not to let an artificial crisis go to waste, this decision will probably pave the way for an overhaul of the Federal PIE system, under which inmates are paid minimum wage for their prison labor. Currently, the govt takes up to 80% for restitution and incarceration costs. Watch the unions, who would love to collect dues from a captive population.
Trivia: The first private prison was San Quentin.
The government is much better at housing people in cages than the private sector.
Wasn’t it a cost cutting measure?
I guess we were spending too little.
A sop to the AFGE.
He’s throwing a bone to the prison worker unions.
Well let’s just waste some more taxpayer money to build federal prisoners some new jails with all the luxuries of a country club.
Forget about the ones we already use....
Is there an area that Biden is not stupid in????
Racial equity...hey, he’s a person of color and only killed 3 white people but it’s his first violent crime so he gets probation.
Im not a fan of private prison, there is too much incentive for judges to get kickbacks. As far as im concerned they should all be eliminated.
There goes some more jobs.
one of the few things I agree with is getting rid of private prisons but I believe that the athourity to do so is only in the fedral system. I dont think its proper for the fedral government to tell the states no on this
We’ve entered crazy town.
With crazy billboards all over the place.
Even Democrats are beginning to notice.
Funny when they try to tell us what the constitution Is, what democracy is all about and what this country stands for.
So, where is Biden going to lock up all those tens of millions of gun owners who will not register or turn in their guns.
Would some of those inmates be in prison because of the “stop and frisk” law pushed by Biden and malicious prosecutions pushed by Commie-la?
