45 Senators agreed that this sham of a “trial” is unconstitutional.
That is more than will be needed to acquit and to eventually end this partisan impeachment process.

Be careful here - all we know is that 45 Senators think it’s a sham trial and almost certainly will vote no.
We don’t know the reasoning or how the other 5 will vote...yet. In fact, it’s possible that some of Trump’s actual supporters (which are probably no more than 5 in the Senate, anyway) want Trump to have his day in ‘court’...although very unlikely.

The “removal from office” text suggests that impeachment only may only be applied to officeholders. Trump has left office.
Nancy and her ‘rats could have voted to impeach Trump the day after the Capitol incident. I think the legal term is laches.
I miss the old days when we could have trials and sentencing and death
