CINCINNATI — Senator Rob Portman announced Monday morning that he would not seek re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2022.

"This was not an easy decision because representing the people of Ohio has been an honor," Portman said. "But I’ve been doing this a long time, longer than I ever intended."

WCPO is updating this story.

"If he does, I hope the people of Ohio make the rest of his life a living hell."

Chances are he'll rarely see any of Ohio again. He'll land a K Street lobbying job and live out his days in the swamp.

The Senate is a problem and probably will always be a problem.

But if we get can the House, that will put pressure on The Senate.

31 years at the public trough, time to go!

Probably saying to himself.. " I've STOLEN enough and I'm wealthy enough to now live out my days comfortably."

It would interesting to see what his NET WORTH was when he first became a Senator and what is it now?

Another BASTARD politician finally walks away from the "feeding trough" with a fully belly.

You are likely correct. They are swimming in OUR tax dollars in the Swamp and lobbyists claim an obscene amount of it for their personal use. Trump gave it a whirl. Too bad they cheated him out of a 2nd term.

I wonder what his “before and after” net worth will be.

“But I’ve been doing this a long time, longer than I ever intended”.

Translation: I milked it for everything it’s worth, now I can die rich and happy.

We need to keep Pennsylvania and Ohio. Plus we have Wisconsin and North Carolina to keep. I’m sure we’re ok in North Carolina and Ohio. Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are toss up at best.

Let’s hope The Mailman’s Son or Dictator DeWhine don’t run.

I think there are more than enough idiots in Ohio who would vote to send either of them to Washington again.

True, and we need to regain GA and AZ and pickup another like Nevada or NM.

Very good news. He was never a reliable conservative vote, and even less so after his son announced he is gay.
This does mean I must stay a registered Republican in order to vote for the true conservative candidate in the 2022 primaries, but I won’t be sending them a dime.
