George Stephanopoulos, the former press secretary for Bill Clinton turned ABC host, came out of the chute fast when he sat down with Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul on Sunday’s “This Week” political talk show.

“Senator Paul, let me begin with a threshold question for you. This election was not stolen, do you accept that fact?”

Paul most definitely did not accept that fact.

“Well, what I would say is that the debate over whether or not there was fraud should occur, we never had any presentation in court where we actually looked at the evidence. Most of the cases were thrown out for lack of standing, which is a procedural way of not actually hearing the question. There were several states in which the law was changed by the Secretary of State and not the state legislature.”

“To me, those are clearly unconstitutional, and I think there’s still a chance that those actually do finally work their way up to the Supreme Court. Courts traditionally and historically don’t like to hear election questions. But yes. Were there people who voted twice? Were there dead people who voted? Were there illegal aliens who voted? Yes, and we should get to the bottom of it,” Paul said.

“I’ll give you an example. In my state, when we had a Democrat Secretary of State, she refused, even under federal order, to purge the rolls of illegal voters. We got a Republican Secretary of State and he purged the rules.”

But Stephanopoulos cut in, saying: “I have to stop you there. No election is perfect. But there were 86 challenges filed by President Trump and his allies in court, all were dismissed. Every state certified the results.”

It was chasing this nonsense story that caused the lawyers to take their eyes off the ball. There was plenty of real fraud to go after as seen in all the hearings without chasing after stories that likely came from Dem-Rat plants that were designed to make everyone look foolish.

First of all, this is hubris argumentum, and secondly of course George is wrong. Rand missed an easy layup here: Republican Party PA v Boockvar, is the case filed long before the election, wherein Justice Alito Ordered [PDF] that "all (PA) ballots received by mail after 8:00 p.m. on November 3 be segregated" and kept “in a secure, safe and sealed container separate from other voted ballots”. Even leftist SCOTUSBlog believes SCOTUS will eventually take up this case for oral argument.

Or perhaps you do not know that former U.S. Rep. Claudia Tenney is leading Democrat Rep. Anthony Brindisi in NY-22 right now by 29 votes and there's a judge ready this week to screw over Tenney and add 1,100 challenge affidavit ballots to the mix.

So pardon me GEORGE, if I consider "No election is perfect" an affront to every American voter and to the Republic itself. It's glib, it's blithe, and you should be ashamed of yourself."

It is not a nonsense story. That case is making its way through the Italian courts, which are known to be very slow. The slowest in Europe actually. Since the vote switching was done there, Italy's courts have jurisdiction and will prosecute. Since Stefano Serafini was a U.S. State Dept. employee in Rome and has been named as the mastermind of the plot, he may have diplomatic immunity in Italy. If so, Italy can ask the U.S. government to waive his immunity. Biden's response to that will be precious. Stay tuned for that.

No need to be sorry. We were all hoodwinked into thinking the GOP, who controlled the legislatures in the six contested states, would come to our rescue.

When the reality was that the GOP was doing all they could to thwart any probe into the 2020 election.

Or tie the truth to their legs like a lead weight, and we’re nearing the point of literally rather than metaphorically (if not past it).
