Former FBI Director James Comey, an outspoken opponent of outgoing President Donald Trump, believes the Republican Party “needs to be burned down or changed” moving forward.
While Comey long identified as a Republican, he endorsed Joe Biden last year and now believes the Republican Party needs a complete revamp.

You mean like the RNC headquarters in North Carolina fire bombed in 2016 and the FBI never identified who did it? You mean like that?
The Tea Party had some small successes running candidates and that was loosly affiliated groups following the same ideas, like a vetting party.
That can be done with someone like Trump leading the charge

The Republican party committed suicide. It literally killed itself.
Pookie’s ‘Toons had a meme on FR this morning comparing the Repubican Establishment to the NFL and NBA. Those giant intellects of sports have lost huge proportions of their audience that are never coming back. Why do the Repubs think it won’t happen to them?
I want to share his quote from the article to show how a hater can twist all logic:

Think about it. Protestors were cleared away after attacking the White House, the same terrible crime he rants about concerning the Capitol.
We know tear gas was not used and he makes up some drama about pepper gas in the air. Even if it was, so?
And he tops it off with the president displayed a BIBLE! Horrors.
Never mind that it was because he saved the historic church the protestors had set on fire - a Bible!
If you’re as bitter biased and self centered as Comey even the Bible is imagined as a thing of hate.

That’s not a very good explanation for this. The Dem Party is not more loyal to the voters than the GOP. It’s a cultural problem. The GOP does not demand loyalty from its elected members. The Dem Party does. Even Trump was not loyal to the Party and he was the leader.
I agree with him, but not for his reasoning.
After Jan 6th I cannot imagine any of the 70 + million Trump voters wanting anything to do with the GOP. In essence, the GOP burned itself down.

I agree. Get rid of the Rinos and it will be a real Republican party. All those changes may require a name change. I’d hate to lose the historical Republican name. Republican-Patriot party?
