Florida data analyst Rebekah Jones arrested, tests positive for COVID-19 in jail
New York Post ^ | January 18, 2021 | Tamar Lapin

Former Florida data scientist Rebekah Jones was arrested on a charge that she hacked into the state’s emergency response system — and later learned she tested positive for COVID-19.

Jones — who said she was fired from the state’s Department of Health in May for refusing to alter coronavirus data — turned herself in late Sunday, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Her attorney, Steve Dobson, said Jones, 31, was tested for COVID-19 after being booked into the Leon County Detention Facility, and learned she was positive on Monday.

Did they take away her title of data scientist because she got arrested?

She sounds like a Lefty, and has Leftists sticking up for her. Don’t know about her accusations of being forced to manipulate data. That would be easy to prove, I would think, if she has the data.

I wonder whether she hacked in, if she had a back door, if they all use the same admin username and password and they didn’t change them when she left, or if they simply neglected to disable her accounts.

No matter what-she got into the system illegally either through her malfeasance or their negligence, and that is only going to be problematic for her if proven true.

Have the Stalinist/Bidenistas demanded any photographs or film instances of her be erased?

Why would they do that? She is one of their heroes. Trashing the Florida governor at every turn and accusing his administration of lying about the severity of COVID.

Jones is basically a nut case, but because she is a DeSantis adversary, the MSM doesn’t often show the other side:
https://news.wjct.org/post/criminal-stalking-case-against-fired-fla-health-data-scientist-drag-august

The reason she was fired, according to DeSantis:
https://www.syracuse.com/coronavirus/2020/05/florida-gov-says-he-fired-su-grad-for-cyberstalking-not-coronavirus-data-allegations.html

I was in Florida a few weeks ago when the local TV station had a news segment about the police showing up at her house with a search warrant. Only her side of it was shown on the newscast, which made me suspicious. Didn’t take much effort to find out more about her.

Most systems record the IP address from which a request originates. Regardless of how she got in, they know it came from her.

Definitely a Lefty. She probably thought she had all the bases covered, and when she got caught, as with most Leftists, it was “unexpected”!

She was cyberstalking a student ... when her house was raided to secure evidence in that case, she then came up with a claim of being a whistleblower to try to win sympathy and create doubt about the prosecution’s cyberstaking investigation.

I’m not sure if she came up with that plan herself, or if her lawyer concocted it.

I saw that. Great. A cyber-stalker. Just what we all need.

If I had it, I would post the crazy girlfriend image meme.

Married Florida data scientist axed for refusing to alter COVID-19 stats was fired from university job for having affair with a student and charged with stalking, threatening him with revenge porn, writing a 342-page manifesto on their sex life

The fired Florida Health Department employee in charge of the state’s COVID-19 response website has a lurid past including three arrests, a torrid affair with her student and being fired from her previous university teaching job, a DailyMail.com investigation can reveal. Rebekah Jones, 30, claims she was asked to leave by health officials this month because she refused to fudge coronavirus infection numbers. But a different picture has now emerged after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that Jones was canned because of insubordination and called her ‘disruptive.’ A DailyMail.com investigation has revealed Jones, a married mother-of-two, was fired from Florida...

Anyone who writes a 342 page manifesto about a sexual relationship and then goes on a revenge rampage is NUTS.

“She sounds like a Lefty”

Just a wacko who doesn’t get along with anyone that won’t bow to her ego.

She was a raging lefty. DeSantis ordered her to clean up her Covid data (she was classifying everything as a “Covid death” and completely distorting Florida statistics). She refused and he fired her.

He also told other counties to clean up their statistics, which they were inflating in order to get more aid, and they complied.

Disgusting. Simply disgusting.

All to keep a state of fear bubbling to the edge. Damn these people. I have no idea she and others like her believe their own pap, think they are doing good protecting us from our ignorant selves, and getting some extra pieces of silver in the process.

It brings to mind the CS Lewis quote which I have seen so often here on Free Republic, but rings ever truer each time I read it:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth.

This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.

After reading about her and her stalking, this is all I could think of:

I will say this though...I heard this girl (obviously the one in the picture, not the crazed stalking leftist cybercriminal) has made a boatload of money from this meme...and I have to respect that!

Making people laugh and making money at the same time...:)
