Retired Army General Stanley McChrystal has compared the MAGA riot to the evolution of Al-Qaeda saying in both instances people followed a 'powerful leader' who 'justified their violence', as he warned America is headed for a homegrown insurgency.

There are many more assholes among flag officers than good guys. McChrystal is in the former category. Southerners (of which I am a part, 24-year veteran) comprise the greatest portion of today’s armed forces, nearly 40%. To compare loyal and patriotic Americans to al Qaeda terrorist scum is ignorant and arrogant. What else is to be expected from a ‘RAT lapdog whom Bathhouse Barry fired?

I suspect he is trying to ingratiate himself to Biden. It may be to protect himself from a coming soviet style enemies purge. But, more likely, he is working as a consultant and wants a few bread and butter (in this case, cookies and cake) contracts from the new administration.
I remember the article and was astonished that anyone on his staff was allowed to talk to the author. Even an idiot should be warry of talking to the press. Having said this, Vice president Spiro Agnew happily told the press about how he had leveraged his office as governor to extract money from people. I remember my eyebrows reached my hairline on reading what he said. (I had a hairline then. My eyebr0ws couldn’t reach it now without surgery.)
Once McChrystal actually wins a war, then he can be considered relevant.

McChrystal has all the same credibility as Obama. Which is to say, None.
Well of course he was defeated. He is so steeped in 1984 speak and think that he cannot see for himself whether he put on matching socks. We are on our third or fourth generation since the WWII. Three generations is all it takes to fritter away a great inheritance, legacy or patrimony.
Surviving the political wars in DC is not the same as surviving a real war where everyone has opportunity to die during battle.
McChrystal proved his treasonous impulses long ago. Given his “zipper problems”, perhaps he is being blackmailed.
