A U.S. Coast Guard crew from Station Key West have recovered a floating tiki hut bar that was reported stolen near in the Florida Keys
Unsurprisingly, the person aboard showed signs of intoxication and he was taken into custody by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Officials said the vessel was located near Hawk’s Channel.
Local reports say the man was found slumped over the wheel of the charter tiki hut at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, giving you an indication of how rough his night was.
The boat is owned Cruisin’ Tiki Key West, which offers the boats up for charter for BYOB booze cruises.
“A little tiki excitement today which was slightly more eventful than your typical tiki cruise,” the company wrote in a Facebook post. Thankfully ‘The Squeaky Tiki’ was returned with only minimal damage.
If only Ted had driven one of these, he would have been President.
Hold muh Mai Tai and watch this!......................................
Picture makes it look like that sleeping dude is about to get smashed by a big old wave...
He just went for a three hour cruise...............................a three hour cruise.....................
Florida Man, Florida Man
Does dumb stuff like no one can....
Yep...Fla sucks. I’d never come here if I were you. I can’t wait to get out.
Headed for distant lands, ok I get it.
What’s wrong with Florida? Gotta be some nice places.
Yea spent my whole life living in Florida and Virginia, hard to beat florida for fishing, virginia mountains, God’s place..
Old ft pierce, and Sanibel were wonderful
A sunny place for shady people. Generally speaking attracts lots of out of staters (Florida natives are a minority of the population), including a good number of folks who f—ked up their lives elsewhere. State economy is dominated by hospitality and real estate both industries with low bars to entry. Hope that DeSantis is able to attract better quality employers but I am not holding my breath.
This story sounds like a jumble of Jimmy Buffett song lyrics.
It stinks...I wouldn’t recommend anyone moving here.....I’ve been here 52 years....I should know.
“good number of folks who f—ked up their lives elsewhere”
I think Alaska might hold the title on that one my friend.
Like I said...been here 52 years. When we really want to have a nice beach vacation its Sanibel every time. Longboat Key ain’t bad either.
I am a second generation native Floridian, but moved to the Midwest over 30 years ago because of job opportunities. Almost all of my family still lives there. After Ron DeSantis’ great leadership, I think about moving back sometimes. Probably to the Panhandle, but who knows?
Still, we have a slice of Heaven right where we are, so the decision would be very difficult.
P.S. - I’ll know I’ve *made it* when I can have my very own tiki hut bar on a pontoon boat.
Florida and Alaska are both the end of the line when you’re running away from something.
