We received a lengthy letter from Dominion's defamation lawyers explaining why they believe that their client has been the victim of defamatory statements. Having considered the full import of the letter, we have agreed to their request that we publish the following statement: American Thinker and contributors Andrea Widburg, R.D. Wedge, Brian Tomlinson, and Peggy Ryan have published pieces on www.AmericanThinker.com that falsely accuse US Dominion Inc., Dominion Voting Systems, Inc., and Dominion Voting Systems Corporation (collectively “Dominion”) of conspiring to steal the November 2020 election from Donald Trump. These pieces rely on discredited sources who have peddled debunked theories about Dominion’s supposed ties to Venezuela, fraud on Dominion’s machines that resulted in massive vote switching or weighted votes, and other claims falsely stating that there is credible evidence that Dominion acted fraudulently. These statements are completely false and have no basis in fact. Industry experts and public officials alike have confirmed that Dominion conducted itself appropriately and that there is simply no evidence to support these claims. It was wrong for us to publish these false statements. We apologize to Dominion for all of the harm this caused them and their employees. We also apologize to our readers for abandoning 9 journalistic principles and misrepresenting Dominion’s track record and its limited role in tabulating votes for the November 2020 election. We regret this grave error.

Proof is not the standard in a libel case — absence of malice is the standard, as long as there is SOME evidence. There was plenty of evidence but the court systems are corrupt and are moving the goalposts on what ‘proof’ is.
They simply caved. Jimrob was bullied by the LATimes and he didn’t cave. He fought towards a settlement, which is why we have that excerpt list here on FR.
I’m not familiar with that song nor the band.
This is only the beginning of The Grand Purge by the Ministry Of Truth.
I am not a lawyer so I can not definitively say what constitutes “standard of proof” nor am I familiar with JimRob’s case against the LA Times (though I admire him for standing up against them) but these sound like 2 different issues.
You wimp out on these cases when you don’t have the facts to support you.
It’s not about knowing the law nor even the standards of proof, which in civil lawsuits is “preponderance of the evidence” (i.e. 51%) whereas in criminal cases it is “beyond a reasonable doubt”.
What it IS about is that you can even fight the big guys relatively cheap to get a better outcome than simply tucking your tail between your legs and whimpering away.

I get that but one was a copyright case and the other was a potential libel case. Different facts and circumstances and all that.
Hi.
Okay, no more machines or mail in ballots. Voter ID.
Paper ballots on election day or requested absentee with valid excuse.
Otherwise, may as well start shooting.

To the dems in seven states and one rino, to wit, Florida had certified election results on November 5...assholes.
This has been a PSA.

Same standard of proof, same David vs Goliath story. That’s what matters. Jimrob fought and got a better result. American Slinker slunk away and now have no comment section.
That is the basis of the analogy between the two cases. Not how close they are legally, but willingness to fight.
“What it IS about is that you can even fight the big guys relatively cheap to get a better outcome than simply tucking your tail between your legs and whimpering away.”
*IF* you’re not full of shit and lying like crazy, *THEN* you can get a better outcome.
As long as there is SOME evidence. There is far more than SOME. AT isn’t putting out completely made up wholecloth fake news. Is that what you are arguing?
The Deep State chose the victim carefully. American Thinker has very few resources to fight back.I'd rather close the business than publish that retraction.
Damned close.
I know lots of people are emotionally invested in believing in some grand conspiracy involving everything from the DOJ to Italy to even SCOTUS all being engaged in some master plan to defeat Trump, but while I wish he’d won, and dread a lot of things Biden will do, I think that it’s almost entirely bullshit that is being propagated and believed regarding ‘the steal’.
Can you just hear the despicable groveling SUCK
How close is damned close? I perceive there to be a 98% probability that Dominion machines were hacked or fraudulently circumvented.
Let us open a thread to debate the differences in our viewpoints.
You can. I’m not going to argue over a ref call when the season’s over.
Until he either dies or no longer in office, the President is from the Other Team. I know some people here regard that as treason or defeatism, but I hate it when the left whines “Not My President”, I’m not going to do it or respect someone who does when it’s the other side in the office. Sorry. You can parse every message from Lin Wood, American Thinker or any other source you wish, I’m going to be focused on getting some conservatives elected to our city council and board of supervisors. Knock youself out. I’ll let the nutters who expect an uprising, some ‘hail Mary’ in the courts or whatever to preach revolution or whatever. Regards
And yet, you’re arguing right here and right now, a referee call after the season is over.
