Bruce Springsteen, John Legend and Foo Fighters will perform during the prime-time special that will cap the inauguration of President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr., and the actors Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington will also have roles to play in the program, the Presidential Inaugural Committee said on Friday.
The announcement added yet more stars to “Celebrating America,” an event scheduled for the evening of Jan. 20. This week, Mr. Biden’s inaugural committee unveiled plans for the program, saying the actor Tom Hanks would host while artists like Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi and Demi Lovato would perform.
Officials have said that the 90-minute event will also include remarks from Mr. Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
During the piecemeal rollout of inauguration plans, Mr. Biden's team has said that the program will “showcase the American people’s resilience, heroism and unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild.” In a news release on Friday, officials specified that the program would include “stories of young people making a difference in their communities.” Ms. Longoria and Ms. Washington, they said, will introduce those segments, as well as musical performances throughout the night.
More performances could still be announced. The prime-time special will be carried live by major networks and streamed on various social media platforms and on steaming services.
The inaugural committee has also outlined its plans for Mr. Biden’s swearing-in ceremony, with Lady Gaga to sing the national anthem and Jennifer Lopez to provide a “musical performance” of her own.

Lady Gaga singing the national anthem at the inauguration?
This is a message to middle America: degeneracy rules!
80+ million people should unplug their TVs the entire 24 hours of the Inauguration debacle. At least they can’t shoot us for that.
I was hoping Biden would have some performers who were popular when he was a young man...like Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys playing Cotton Eyed Joe.
World Cafe, April 25, 2006 - On the new collection We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, Bruce Springsteen honors the folk music tradition that has inspired many of his own compositions over the years. All the tracks on the new album are standards closely associated with folk icon Pete Seeger.
Springsteen assembled large ensemble of acoustic musicians to flavor the proceedings with everything from accordion to tuba. Rock critic Tom Moon talks with host David Dye about why he reacted so strongly and positively towards this latest offering by The Boss.

NYT Writer Corrects Record: Pete Seeger 'Only' 40 Years Late in Denouncing Stalin
By P.J. Gladnick
2007-09-02
The New York Times has now corrected [1] a "smear" about Pete Seeger being 50 years too late in denouncing Stalin. Thanks to the intrepid research of Times reporter Daniel J. Wakin, the record has now been set straight. Pete Seeger was only about 40 years too late in criticizing Stalin.

"Seeger was antiwar during the period of the Nazi-Soviet Pact; pro-war after the Soviet Union was the ally of the United States; and anti-war during the years of the Cold War and Vietnam. To Nichols -a rather dense left-winger -it is good form to acknowledge that perhaps 'Stalin was a bad guy,' and then simply get over it, and move on to campaign for very American socialist causes." --Ronald Radosh (former communist)

I assume this is virtual? They aren’t planning a crowded room and famous people up on a stage, right?
The issue is, will Biden perform at the Biden inauguration?
Yet.
"As O’Brien passed the telescreen a thought seemed to strike him. He stopped, turned aside and pressed a switch on the wall. There was a sharp snap. The voice had stopped.
Julia uttered a tiny sound, a sort of squeak of surprise. Even in the midst of his panic, Winston was too much taken aback to be able to hold his tongue.
‘You can turn it off!’ he said.
‘Yes,’ said O’Brien, ‘we can turn it off. We have that privilege.’
I will be busy retiring my flag in honor of those that fought for this once great country.
I haven’t tuned in or listened to a damn thing Biden has said, and I never plan on or have a reason to do so. Who attends his events makes no difference to me.
Springsteen has been mostly awful since The River. Coincidentally, that’s about when his commercial success really took off.
Is that George Stephanopoulos to his right - the one with a cane?
Even IF Biden was on the right side of America, which he of course is not, he would be almost impossible to watch or listen to beyond the first sentence or two.
I’m going to miss all of it.
I’m afraid I shall become bulemic by the end of the first week of the Obama/Soros/Ayers/Harris/Biden administration. I’ll be anorexic and dead by the time it’s over.
No problem. I will record it for you and mail it to you. Where do you live?
I plan on missing the entire four years of the illegitimate Biden administration.
Never liked Springsteen’s smarmy shallow pandering music even before I knew his politics. Cheap, sentimental juvenile-level lyrics. “Poetry” my azz.
After he was so rude to President Reagan, I had no use for him as a person.
Another one like John Lennon who purported to speak for and identify with the “working man”-both of them probably with images of Fred Flintstone in their minds-while they live(d) the lives of multi-millionaires.
“Imagine no possessions “, while you own a whole apartment fitted out to store your fur coats. Carrying on about globull warming while you jet all over the globe. Stick your cheap sermonising up your azzes.
Same here. Will spend some time returning Republican fundraising mail back to them with pithy messages.
Interesting... Is he taking requests?
If so, I would like to dedicate “Born in the U.S.A.” to Kommie-La
