The Republican Party Killed Itself
American Thinker ^ | January 14,2021 | By J.B. Shurk

Posted on 01/14/2021 6:48:53 PM PST by Hojczyk

For anyone not residing in D.C., that was the obvious lesson of 2016. Over four years later, too many elected representatives still haven't figured that out. Washington Republicans have worked tirelessly to make President Trump go away, and they have done so at great cost to the future of the Republican Party. When Republican leaders constantly countermand the voters of their own party, many voters would rather destroy the party and start from scratch than reward the very people who seem to hate them most.

If the Mitt Romneys, Paul Ryans, Ben Sasses, or any of the other consistent NeverTrump naysayers who all predicted the worst from Trump's presidency had any professional credibility, they would recognize how repeatedly wrong they have been about their doom-and-gloom predictions for five years. That they have only doubled and tripled down on their hatred for President Trump while, in Senator Romney's case, astonishingly turning potential Biden family financial crimes into a Trump impeachment has only made them (and, by extension, their Republican colleagues) increasingly repugnant to ordinary Republican voters.

It is difficult to pull the lever for the Republican members of a legislative body that stubbornly refuses to understand why voters elected President Trump and how the president has succeeded for those voters despite the intractable efforts at sabotage by NeverTrump Republicans in Congress. It is hard to imagine ever supporting members of a political party who see ordinary Americans protesting for free and fair elections as a greater threat to the Union than their own totalitarian colleagues pushing censorship and socialism in the halls of Congress.

Paul Ryan, Trey Gowdy, Lindsey G, and Scalise already killed the Tea Party.

It’s an Act. There’s not a dime’s difference between them, they wine and dine together and they just want the gravy train to keep rolling.

When they go out a couple times a year and say things have to change, it’s pure acting.

They need to fool some schmucks and they’re back to not even pretending.

Yep. The Tea Party was a great example of what we can do. We need that X 10.

Approximately half of the precinct chair positions were unfilled according to someone Bannon had on the War Room.

Get some good people to run for those positions. Costs less than 20 bucks to run. These people get to vote for party leadership and have an impact on rules and who their precinct voters choose—especially important in the primary.

Top down — bottom up. Taking over the party.

If Trump start it and funds it for the first few years the GOP is dead. I would work my ass off to get it off the ground. NOBODY WANTS TO BE IN THE GOP. NOBODY BUT A$$CLOWNS.

-- The GOP needs to be reformed and strengthened. --

Whatever that means. Typical vague politispeak. Platitude. Hollow garbage.

We know them by their actions.

Betraying your President? why?!?

“President Donald Trump will wield his fortune and name to help Republicans flip the House of Representatives during the next nationwide election, an adviser said on Jan. 14.

“President Trump is going to make sure we get the House back in 2022,” Jason Miller, a Trump campaign adviser, said.

“He’s got a ton of money. He’s the biggest name. He’s going to get that done.”

Miller was speaking on Steve Bannon’s “War Room.” Bannon is a former Trump strategist.

Trump’s plans after leaving office, which he’s scheduled to do next week, are unclear. He has posited starting a company to rival Twitter and other social media companies, but said little else about what he plans to do.

Republicans surprised many by flipping 14 House seats in the 2020 election, cutting Democrats’ majority to 10 from 35. That sets them up for a favorable 2022, if things break right.”
