Twitter stock fell as much as 10% in premarket trading on Monday after the social-media company permanently banned President Trump’s account on Friday evening.

Twitter’s bosses suspended Trump’s account – which had about 88 million followers – after the world leader’s fanning of conspiracies about voter fraud and election theft spurred thousands of his supporters to lay siege to the Capitol last week.

They don’t care. Parler is being blocked. Twitter will bounce back because people who are inclined to use that platform are generally addicted to that kind of stimulation.

I read about a strategy over the weekend that I have implemented.

Periodically go to your Twitter account and scroll down through the timeline. You'll find advertisements (promoted Tweets) sprinkled among the Tweets. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the promoted Tweet, and select "block @xxxxx" (whoever the Tweet ad is for.)

I've done this all weekend, and now my Twitter feed is ad-free, and Twitter isn't making any money off of me.
