Big business began a boycott Sunday of Republican members of Congress who followed Donald Trump's demands and voted to overturn the election.
Hotel giant Marriott, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and Commerce Bancshare, the parent company of Commerce Bank and other community banks, all told Popular Information they were suspending donations to the group dubbed 'the treason caucus' by critics.
Ford, AT&T and Bank of America said told Popular Information they would consider lawmakers' actions when deciding on whether to donate, and CVS, Exxon Mobil, FedEx and Target said they are reviewing their political giving.
Berkshire Hathaway said the same. Its owner, Warren Buffett, is the country's most prominent investor and any boycott by his companies would set the tone for other investors.
The moves came as the two most prominent Trump loyslists, Texas senator Ted Cruz and Missouri senator Josh Hawley, both faced new demands to quit this weekend.
The Houston Chronicle, Texas' second-largest newspaper, told Cruz in an editorial that it was time to resign, saying: 'You have blood on your hands.'

All have been on my massive ban list for years. Companies shouldn’t donate to any political or controversial cause. It isn’t their money but the customers’ dollars. When customers stop landing over their hard earned dollars, this will stop.
Remember Yoplait yogurt lids customers were asked to mail in so Yoplait could donate to breast cancer? Snort, it cost more to mail in lids than to just donate your own dollars and get your own tax deductions. Much the same as the current Bombas sock company claiming tax deductions on their donated socks on the customers’ dime. Sheeple, wake up.
“I wonder if they’ll have a change of heart when their corporate tax rates go up......”
Unfortunately, high corporate taxes and oppressive regulations are in their best interest. In fact, perversely, Big Business created Big Government for just that purpose.
For decades, Big Business has been sending it’s lobbyists to DC to buy up politicians, or create new ones to be elected - so that they can impose burdensome taxes and regulations on their own industries.
Why? To stifle competition. In other words, they create an adverse conditions in which only a mega corporation can comply with, or survive in.
For example, the giant corporations that make up the Big Pharma monopoly do not mind having to comply with oppressive FDA approvals, obstacles and hurdles, because they can easily afford teams of compliance officers paid to navigate and bribe them through the system, and negotiate waivers and legal exemptions.
The up-and-coming competition can’t afford the cost of compliance, or the price of lobbying (bribing) bureaucrats and politicians) for waivers and exemptions.
Big Government is the creation of Big Business - the government enables them to legally drive the competition out business.
This is why only the small businesses got destroyed by the Wuhon Flu lockdowns..
For Big Business, the lockdowns were heaven sent:
They got to stay open
They got an excuse to lay off workers and replace them with robotics
They got a way to destroy their competition
They got an excuse to make consumers more dependent
Look at the list. Almost all national name brands that advertise on MARXIST media.
Go generic/local whenever you can.
They are just reinforcing the adage, “Big Business is not your friend.”
Fascism like this is why windows got broken at the capitol. These virtue signaling corporations don’t get it.
This rapidly escalating estrangement between “red” America and “blue” enclaves scattered all through the otherwise contiguous territory of “red” America”, does not bode well for any kind of amicable reconciliation.
This is a bit different. Big Tech is holed up in the bluest cities. Marriott hotels and Amazon warehouses are located throughout red America. I don’t think these corps have wargamed this one out. Once President Trump is arrested it won’t take long to see the fall out.
No, just the national name brands who advertise on the MARXIST media.
Go local/generic.
Dump the cable tv.
They are globalists. America is just another country to them.
If they can offload their healthcare expenses to the gov, they just may come out ahead.
Big business interjecting itself more and more openly and directly into the governmental process - seems to me this opens them up to direct intervention into their practices by the government - interference is not a one-way street......
If you look at the electoral map there is a sea of red with blue states on both coasts. There are exceptions, IL for example but they are surrounded by that sea of red. The battleground states are red, it doesnt matter that they cheated, the people of those states are red.
Its not geographics. The question is, why did the North win the civil war?
A former colleague of mine was not a man to mess with.
A large retailer rather blatantly screwed him.
Not long after he purchased a large ticket item from them - then returned it for a full refund as “defective”.
He went to several of this retailer’s locations and repeated similar transactions until he figured he had cost them twice what they had bilked him out of.
Didn’t get his money back but he sure felt better.
It’s a yogurt thing. Not abou logic.
Contact Cruz and Hawley’s offices to voice your support for them. Their staffs need to hear voices of support.
Barely half of those states are red.
Another 9 years and it will be 1930 all over again
“””Big Government is the creation of Big Business - the government enables them to legally drive the competition out business.”””
Well stated—along with the rest that you wrote.
Unrealistic purity tests have been a staple of grass-roots conservatism for decades.
Haley Barbour used to paraphrase Regan as saying “My 80% friend is not my 20% enemy”, but at the retail level, that has often fallen on deaf ears.
The left never had this problem, they have always been willing to form coalitions to advance their core agendas. To be fair, they had the easier task; all they needed to do was destroy, and spread the spoils to their constituents.
I’m not aware that the press, in calling for him to be removed from office is exactly singing his praises.
I generally like the way Ted votes, and articulates his reasoning. But always had reservations about his ability as a retail-level politician.
I’m sticking with my assessment that he’s become better at punching through the media spin. He’s no Trump, but he finally seems to understand that the media are the enemy, and he’s going to have to work past that to communicate with his voters.
BOYCOTT MARRIOT !!!!!!
Unbelievable. God bless Patriots Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz!
