British actor Rowan Atkinson, famous for his character Mr. Bean, sat down for an extensive interview with UK outlet Radio Times, and discussed his feelings on the current media scene and cancel culture.
“The problem we have online is that an algorithm decides what we want to see, which ends up creating a simplistic, binary view of society. It becomes a case of either you’re with us or against us. And if you’re against us, you deserve to be ‘canceled,'” he said.
"Mr. Bean" star Rowan Atkinson has weighed in on "cancel culture": "It’s important that we’re exposed to a wide spectrum of opinion, but what we have now is the digital equivalent of the medieval mob roaming the streets looking for someone to burn." https://t.co/69Gls9IObZ
He went on to express the need for a diverse set of beliefs and his concern for the future.
“It’s important that we’re exposed to a wide spectrum of opinion, but what we have now is the digital equivalent of the medieval mob roaming the streets looking for someone to burn,” Atkinson said in the interview. “So it is scary for anyone who’s a victim of that mob and it fills me with fear about the future.”

Yep.. even he gets it !
Well, he’s obviously racist, white supremisist, using archaic definitions of tolerance. Youtube should drop all of his content and redirect all of his royalties to a deserving cause.
Blackadder was far better then Mr Bean !
Last night, I watched for the first time Atkinson playing Detective Maigret in a television movie. I loved him in this dramatic role.
Anyhow, this sort of interview is consistent with earlier interviews that he has done. He is a true believer in freedom of thought and speech.
Yes
Even Mr. Bean understands this.
Yep.. even he gets it !
These kinds of liberals are the ones we want on our side.
Politicians are frightened of these dangerous ho-made anarchists; Actors like Mr. Bean understand actors...I think he is spot on...
Yep, when I hear his name, I immediately think of Blackadder.
The cancel culture are a united group of failures at everything and never will be anything except a batch of ignorant slackers.
Oxford grad of Engineering.
He’s spoken out on the surveillance state of the UK as well.
I think he also may have supported UKIP?
As for what he's saying about the cancel culture he's spot on. His comments won't endear him to "progressives" however. But I suspect he's rich enough not to care.
It was nice knowing ya, Rowan.
I agree—Blackadder was a great series.
