President Trump officially conceded in a video released today. This is unfortunate as my hope was he was continuing to fight. I was wrong. And that may be a good thing, which I’ll talk about below. First, here’s the President’s speech.

What concession? I heard no concession. What I heard was an honorable man who played by the rules, and when all the legal recourses were exhausted he simply said that there will be a peaceful transfer of power. He didn’t say he agreed with what had happened, or accepted it, but that he has simply run out of options, and time. It’s kind of like a football game where the refs are clearly biased and screwed you with unwarranted penalties while letting your opponent’s infractions go uncalled. The final whistle sounds, ending the game, and it shows up on your record as an L. You don’t agree with it, you don’t accept it, but all your challenges have come to naught, so you move on.
