Gun violence spiked across the country in 2020, the most violent year in decades. 19,000 were killed in shootings, the highest death toll in 20 years (and that does not include gun suicides). Mass shootings — defined as four or more shot in an incident — also rose drastically to over 600.
Chicago’s 769 homicides in 2020 were, according to ABC News, “more homicides than in all but one year in more than two decades.” The 4,033 shooting victims were also drastically higher. The spike in Chicago was echoed in other big cities like Detroit, Washington, D.C., New York and Atlanta and in smaller cities like Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Rockford, Illinois. In all these cities, the victims are disproportionately people of color.

Nope - planting the propaganda for the planned gun grab.
Forget about all the riots and looting and destruction that didn’t happen last summer and defund the police and releasing whole prisons of criminals had nothing to do with this and is soooo 2020 - this is about making people safe.
And so were the perpetrators. The full price of defunding the police is paid by those the left is claiming to protect.

Portland has seen a hefty increase in murders, right after they disbanded the police anti-gang task force. Because it was racist.
Portland news unwilling to accept that they are really really stupid.
If they really wanted to do something about murder they could hang the murderers publicly right in front of the court house.
Those darned guns just keep getting away with it! Meanwhile, everyone on my street owns guns, and we have never had a shooting. #whiteprivilege, even the black family around the corner.
Black lives matter should look into this problem.

restore firearms training and shooting sports to the high schools
then as long as govt is throwing billions of our tax dollars down the drain for welfare programs (way way beyond helping the genuinely disabled).... maybe issue firearms acquisition vouchers to every USA citizen... and let each person buy the kind that s/he believes will help protect self and family and friends.. the best

If guns themselves were the problem, then conservatively run cities around the country would have the same problem but they don't.
That leaves the problem squarely in the laps of the democRATS themselves.
Start executing the illegal gangbangers in the public square. Don’t take 30+ yrs to do it.
All Leftist run cities with some of the strictest gun control
laws in the nation.
Meanwhile, small towns across America are populated with
people who own 10 to 20 guns per family, with zero murders
per year.
Most of them are Republican run.
Then look at who is killing who.
Who is killing Blacks in Chicago?
How many of those 769 killings in Chicago were Black?
How may of those Black deaths were the result of a Black
person firing a weapon?
Oh never mind that. Now back to “White Privilege” and how
it has harmed the American society.
