England goes back into national lockdown amid another COVID-19 surge

England is going back to a full national lockdown in an effort to stem a surge in COVID-19 cases driven by a contagious new mutation, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced Monday.

The new “stay at home” order will go into effect Wednesday and is expected to last until at least mid-February.

“With most of the country already under extreme measures, it’s clear that we need to do more, together, to bring this new variant under control while our vaccines are rolled out,” Johnson in a televised address.

“In England, we must therefore go into a national lockdown.”

It seems to me that if you have a lockdown... and an immediate surge requiring another lockdown - then logic would state that lockdowns don’t work?

You locked down for 4 weeks which is 2x beyond the contagion span of the flu and the numbers STILL increased during the lockdown and after (just like they did with the initial flatten the curve myth last March)

Insanity. I consider the entire COVID nonsense one long boring frustrating joke. Less than one twentieth of once percent dead worldwide. Of course the media is pushing it with headlines like “every 33 seconds an American dies from covid”.

It seems to me that if you have a lockdown... and an immediate surge requiring another lockdown - then logic would state that lockdowns don’t work? Since more transmissions are traced to households, and almost all deaths occur among the aged and with 2 or more comorbidities, then the logical response would be:

1. Tell people to stay home;

2. Open parks, sea shores, etc. and encourage getting outside as much as possible.

3. Forbid close prolonged close contact with others who are overweight, diabetic, hypertensive, etc.;

4. Keep the above separate from each other, and install ultraviotet light air sanitation systems in extended care facilities.

5. Require masks when in any time of close contact with the vulnerable, but not the young and healthy and those who have recovered from Covid.

But if you want to foster fear and hysteria:

1. Headline the case and death count, but do not mention the increased number of tests in correspondence to the former, and only mention the Case Fatality Rate (1.7), not the more realistic Infection Fatality (0.33) or the Crude Mortality Rate (0.11),

2. Headline how America leads the world in Covid cases and deaths, but do not mention that we have done far more tests than any other nation, and that there are presently 89 more nations with a higher Case Fatality Rate than the US.

3. Warn of the dangers of Covid but do not mention the drastic long-term economic consequences and unhealthy effects that this COVID-19 response has and will result in.

4. Headline exceptional cases of deaths among the young and healthy, versus the reality.
