Sen. Ted Cruz Is Leading a GOP Senate Coalition to Oppose Election Results: Here are the names of the Senators joining Cruz

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is leading a coalition of Republican senators who plan to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential results. The group is calling for a "10-day audit" of the results after "unprecedented allegations of voter fraud, violations and lax enforcement of election law, and other voting irregularities."

“Voter fraud has posed a persistent challenge in our elections, although its breadth and scope are disputed. By any measure, the allegations of fraud and irregularities in the 2020 election exceed any in our lifetimes," the coalition said in a statement.

Those allegations have cast a doubt on whether or not former Vice President Joe Biden is indeed the winner of the election. In fact, a joint poll between Reuters and Ipsos found that 39 percent of Americans believe "the election was rigged." Of those, 67 percent of Republicans shared that belief, compared to 17 percent of Democrats and 31 percent of Independents.

“Some Members of Congress disagree with that assessment, as do many members of the media. But, whether or not our elected officials or journalists believe it, that deep distrust of our democratic processes will not magically disappear. It should concern us all. And it poses an ongoing threat to the legitimacy of any subsequent administrations," the group explained.

The coalition believe the courts, specifically the United States Supreme Court, should have addressed the issues of voter and election fraud.

“Ideally, the courts would have heard evidence and resolved these claims of serious election fraud. Twice, the Supreme Court had the opportunity to do so; twice, the Court declined," the said.

Because Congress has the constitutional power to decide whether or not to certify the election results, the coalition believes Jan. 6 will be the time to "consider and force resolution of the multiple allegations of serious voter fraud."

Although Democrats have repeatedly shot down accusations of voter fraud, there have been numerous instances where Democrats objected to the results of a presidential election. They did it in 1969 with Richard Nixon, again in 2001 and 2005 with George W. Bush and in 2017 with Donald Trump. In 1969 and 2005 a Democrat from both chambers of Congress forced a vote on whether to accept the Electoral College votes that were being challenged.

The senators want to follow the precedent established in 1877 when an Electoral Commission was established to address allegations of voter fraud.

“The most direct precedent on this question arose in 1877, following serious allegations of fraud and illegal conduct in the Hayes-Tilden presidential race. Specifically, the elections in three states—Florida, Louisiana, and South Carolina—were alleged to have been conducted illegally," the coalition explains. “In 1877, Congress did not ignore those allegations, nor did the media simply dismiss those raising them as radicals trying to undermine democracy. Instead, Congress appointed an Electoral Commission—consisting of five Senators, five House Members, and five Supreme Court Justices—to consider and resolve the disputed returns."

The coalition calls on their colleagues to establish an Electoral Commission "with full investigatory and fact-finding authority, to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states. Once completed, individual states would evaluate the Commission’s findings and could convene a special legislative session to certify a change in their vote, if needed."

All 11 of the senators will vote not to certify the election on Jan. 6 "unless and until that emergency 10-day audit is completed."

They did, however, make clear that they expect the challenge to take place on a partisan basis, even though election integrity is not a partisan issue.

“We are not naïve. We fully expect most if not all Democrats, and perhaps more than a few Republicans, to vote otherwise. But support of election integrity should not be a partisan issue," the coalition explained. "A fair and credible audit—conducted expeditiously and completed well before January 20—would dramatically improve Americans’ faith in our electoral process and would significantly enhance the legitimacy of whoever becomes our next President. We owe that to the People."

“These are matters worthy of the Congress, and entrusted to us to defend. We do not take this action lightly. We are acting not to thwart the democratic process, but rather to protect it. And every one of us should act together to ensure that the election was lawfully conducted under the Constitution and to do everything we can to restore faith in our Democracy," the senator said.

The group joining Cruz includes Ron Johnson (WI), James Lankford (OK), Steve Daines (MT), John Kennedy (LA), Marsha Blackburn (TN), and Mike Braun (IN), and Senators-Elect Cynthia Lummis (WY.), Roger Marshall (KS), Bill Hagerty (TN), and Tommy Tuberville (AL).

This Cruz proposal and the Missouri Senator’s proposal are only being brought forward to position the Senators in a way to win over Trump voters for 2024.

All of these objections will eventually fail.

Opportunity for someone to grab 2024 front runner position.

RE: All of these objections will eventually fail.

But do you still support the objection? Or is it your contention that because it is an exercise in futility, there should be no objection at all - just proceed as if nothing irregular happened?

To make an analogy — The men of Alamo should simply have surrendered to the Mexicans because their resistance would eventually result in their deaths?

People that follow the details and are of sound mind need no further information. The 2020 Election was stolen full stop.

Now there is a plausible issue of a divided Congress over a vote for objections. In which case the EC count defaults to previously certified votes, bad for Trump but not the final end.

This is why Trump is pushing for speaking before Congress as Chambers debate. Reports are Trump has Haspel and evidence. That will be enough to refute 100% any counter arguments. Any member of Congress who votes against objections knowing the 2020 Election was stolen will be committing an act of treason.

State legislatures, upon hearing the evidence put forth by the President, may notice in an instant to Congress their intention to rescind and decertify their previously certified Electors causing Congress to hold slates of Electors without form or foundation. The state legislatures have full plenary power over their Electors under Article II of the US Constitution.

Well stated. However, you and I see it clearly while most Americans do not because the media has not covered it and our elected leaders have stated the obvious.

Without public opinion it is difficult if not impossible to expect politicians of any stripe to act with courage or conviction.

The “fraud” must be clearly demonstrated. It has been. The “fraud” must be seen and acknowledged by a majority of people. That has not yet happened because the media, republicrats, and big tech are telling the people that there is nothing to see.

The “people” will see the fraud eventually and none of this will go away. The immediate goal of preventing the steal is in major jeopardy though because the three entities above have set the narrative. This hearing is important because many millions more will see this for the first time and likely many of them will reach the same conclusion we have.

It was stolen.

When “public opinion” states this, politicians might find either the courage or the fear to act accordingly. Without that, this is just an exercise in parliamentarian process - just how the media will define it.

He needs to make a full confession and apology for his behavior in 2016.

His wife also needs to resign and cut all ties to her employer, Goldman-Sachs.

Oops - our elected leaders HAVE NOT stated the obvious.

Imagine if McConnell acknowledged the fraud. He has not. He has defended it. Imagine if McCarthy acknowledged the fraud and demanded a remedy. He has been as milquetoast as we expected him to be. Imagine if the courts acknowledged the fraud. They have not and they deny any hearing through process - not the merits.

These three can do this because there is not an overwhelming public demand for accountability.

WHY? Should a few of my relatives who are strong Trump supporters quit their jobs with Goldman Sachs as well?

Where the heck is Cornyn? I know he is a Rino, but if he had done this before the last election, a lot of Texas Republicans wouldn’t have voted for him in the primary or the election.

Sounds official to me.

Plus, I wouldn’t be surprised to see another couple dozen Republican Senators joining this group at the last minute, or simply stating their objections independently when the time comes. Once there is a group it is a lot easier to stand up.

I don’t see Rand Paul’s name - and I would be very surprised if he did not object to the certifications - since he said on the Senate floor that “the election was clearly stolen“ too weeks ago.

Add to that, the fact that a Senator’s or Representative’s failure to formally object on the 6th does not rule out the possibility of voting against the Biden electors anyway, or supporting a delay in the vote pending an audit.

And here’s a crazy prediction: I think supposed backstabbers like McConnell, Thune, Toomey and Sasse may well come out on the right side when push comes to shove. Mitch signaled as much when he cryptically called this vote the most important of his career.

Why would he say that unless he thought it would be a vote of conscience?
If he was planning to vote to elect Biden to serve his globalist CCP paymasters, why would he draw attention to it with such a comment?

There are a few reasons I can imagine why the Republican leadership might not want to show their cards - 1) they don’t want this to be partisan - as with the impeachment - election integrity should not be a partisan issue - 2) they are still hoping that before the 6th, at least three state legislatures will move to decertify, thus sparing them the need to intervene...

Something is up.

RE: He needs to make a full confession and apology for his behavior in 2016.

Why bring up the contentious primaries of 2016? We are fighting a different war here and allies should not be attacking one another when there is a common enemy that needs to be defeated.

While we’re talking about apologies, What about the candidate who accused Ted Cruz’s father of conspiring to assassinate JFK? Should that candidate apologize?

The DOJ and local state enforcement officials have investigated and said there is no wide spread fraud that could over turn the election. Trump’s team of lawyers and agents have failed to prove widespread fraud that could over turn the election in various courts, failed to take fraud cases to court (though saying there was fraud in public) and failed to take steps to win cases on mail in ballots before the election in various courts. Thus, there should be no objection at all.

> “The “fraud” must be seen and acknowledged by a majority of people. That has not yet happened because the media, republicrats, and big tech are telling the people that there is nothing to see.”

Not quite. Those that voted for Trump, probably 80 million or more, receive their information outside the entrenched CCP controlled media. Else they wouldn’t have voted as they did.

The presumption that most Americans do not see is a response conditioned by the same media entity that incessantly repeats there was no election theft.

Americans do see but their voice is jammed by censoring, however they continually bypass media roadblocks to get their message out. Because the ‘signal’ is jammed, the media enemy attempts to fill the vacuum they created with disinformation. That’s what you are observing apparently concluding as long as disinformation exists, Americans do not see.

Yes, we all see the results in people around us of the media enemy’s manipulation of their thinking. But that is not new. It was always there.

What matters are the 70+ to 80+ million who voted for reelecting this President and their effect on state legislatures. Their effect is growing. Already legislatures are on fire and preparing to rescind the falsely certified election results.

What matters is the President speaking before Congress on Wednesday.

What matters is Congress allowing the President to speak.

The ultimate fallback is WAR. That’s not a hysterical statement. The CCP controlled Marxist takeover is real. The steal is real.

The ultimate backstop is Martial Law and a new election. There will be gnashing of teeth. A new fair election will calm society. The deep state, yes deep state, their paramilitary wing will be captured and the courts they control will be suspended. The media enemy will screech “dictator” but their effect will subside as Americans overcome objections through awareness the new FAIR ELECTION is the path to stability.

We conservatives all support Cruz’s ‘Vuelta’. We appreciate his return to reason.

And you’re right. We shouldn’t bring it up now. The remarks were made with a view of his future palpability as a future presidential candidate. The remarks were made to how he eventually redeems himself.

Cruz barely defeated O’Rourke in 2018. Texans held their nose. Ted needs (later) to lay prostrate in repentance. Then his elections should be landslides.
