A federal law enforcement official says it isn't hard to illegally convert a handgun into a fully automatic weapon like the one a 16-year-old Madison boy allegedly used to spray bullets near a busy stretch of road in Sun Prairie earlier this month.
Yeshua Schworck was formally charged with attempted first-degree homicide Monday in the Dec. 9 shooting that hit four vehicles, including three that were occupied, around 6:40 p.m. near a BP gas station on West Main Street, the city's main thoroughfare. The driver of the Mitsubishi SUV Schworck was riding in when he allegedly fired the shots, Trentin G. Holsten, 19, of Necedah, is charged as a party to the crime.
According to a criminal complaint, the man who was targeted in the shooting is the father of a woman Holsten used to date. He told police that after he and Schworck briefly exchanged words in the BP parking lot, he was driving his Nissan Pathfinder onto West Main behind the Mitsubishi when Schworck leaned out of the passenger-side window and opened fire.

Pffttt! 3D printer and viola, Ma deuce. Simple.
It’s not the tool, it’s the operator.
One has to be real stupid to modify a perfectly good handgun into something nobody can hang on to.
Thus the bullets everywhere.
Right. Airplane accident, pilot; car accident, driver; shooting, gun.
Glock 19 selector removable switch.
Although my wife and I know people with licensed automatic firearms and heavy military equipment... personally, it takes me too much time to assemble cartridges to enjoy blowing through a large amount in a very short period of time. And when it comes to large scale weaponry, we had a friend who was killed with another guy when they had a breech block failure in the WWII vintage “tank destroyer” they were enjoying a sunny afternoon blowing up car hulks. Each one of those cartridges litterally cost about $100 to put together... and they can kill you if something goes wrong.
The only danger from a full auto handgun is to the ceiling.
MAC -10’s, TEC-9’s, and Uzi’s got the same vibe happening... aim really, really low and a couple of slugs might make contact with the target.
Full to empty in what, .2 seconds?
What a charmer. I can't imagine why dad didn't want his daughter dating this fellow. Clearly, he's a keeper.
Reminds me of a match 50+ years ago in Ft. Myers, FL. The fellow next to me had his "Highly Tuned" Colt pistol go full auto, putting several holes through the roof of the range as the pistol climbed! Luckily, no one was injured but I suspect that he left trigger modifications to a professional thereafter!
While I do not disapprove of tattoos in general, as a means of personal and/or religious expression...
People who get face/neck tats like this kid are pretty much hanging an “I’m a douche-bag” sign around their necks.
Having fired an actual, and registered, G18 before... Keeping things relatively on target isn’t that hard...
As long as your firearm is set up correctly for it and you know what you are doing. Barrel porting, compensators, muzzle brakes, or other recoil management devices go a long way to keeping things safe and relatively on target.
Not things you would expect from a gang-banger with his “gat” though...
A full auto handgun? I’m surprised he didn’t hit some birds.
John Dillinger had a .45 Automatic modded to full auto. It had a 30-round mag and a vertical foregrip from a M1921 Thompson submachine pistol. How his gunsmith did that I don’t have a clue... I saw pics of it long ago.
I think his was 38 super.
Tattoos - especially neck tats - are very useful. They identify people who aren’t worth interacting with.
