The House voted Monday evening to override President Donald Trump’s veto of the 2021 National Defense Authorization Act, in a 322-87 vote, including more than 100 Republicans.
Two-thirds of the House was needed to override Trump’s veto, and the House passed that threshold, with 109 House Republicans joining Democrats voting to override Trump and 20 Republicans not voting.
Trump last week vetoed the annual bill, which authorizes Pentagon activities and $740 billion in spending for 2021, over the absence of a provision to rescind Section 230, which grants big tech companies immunity from lawsuits, as well as provisions including one calling for the renaming of military bases named after Confederate figures.
The bill now goes to the Senate, where it must also obtain two-thirds of the vote to override the president’s veto.
Sixty-six Republicans voted to uphold the president’s veto.
Republicans voting to uphold the veto included Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) who said he voted against the NDAA, which has a provision that would slow down a U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Gaetz said during a floor speech:
I oppose the NDAA not because I’m against our troops, but because I love them so much. America’s fighting men and women are so precious that they should not have to die in some failed state, some faraway land that most Americans can’t even point to on a map so defense contractors can extend our involvement in these wars, so that lobbyists can get rich, and so that members of Congress can get reelected.

The GOP is over. They’ll never learn and they don’t give a damn what the base thinks. The only thing left for the base is to start a new Party. I hope Trump will lead us in this direction. I’ve heard all the reasons why we shouldn’t start a new Party, mostly from GOP swamp creatures. It’s the only thing left.
The question now is if there are 19 Republican votes in the Senate to override. I don’t know the answer to that.
A lot of people think that they can reform the party from within. They are naive. The establishment is entrenched. Reformers will never overcome incumbency. The voters couldn’t even get rid of the worst RINOs (McCain, Graham, McConnell, etc.) and people still think they can do it through primaries. They’re fooling themselves.
It’s time for a new party. It didn’t take long for the Republicans to overtake the Whigs. The Republican party has become modern equivalent of the Whig party.
It’s not without sacrifice. We would lose the House and Senate for a couple of cycles but we would end up with a healthier, stronger party in the long run.
It can be done.
This entire thing is a disaster.
The bill was horrific. The RNC is so dumb, they would have voted for Adolf Hitler as America was wiping the floor with the NAZI’s toward the end.
All the RNC would have needed was the NAZI news papers and radio stations warning them of their demise, if they didn’t go along with the NAZI’S, even with Berlin getting pulverized to dust.
They are that stupid.
However, if I were Trump, I would have demanded a meeting with Mcconnell and McCarthy, recorded the entire meeting, and made them tell me to my face -
1. Why they were supporting outright war on conservatives from the left, supporting decimation of conservative speech nation wide.
2. Forced them to tell me why they were betraying what was and is a huge majority of voters, and supporting the end of representative governance.
3. Made them tell me why they were attempting to unconstitutionally weaken or strip the Executive Branch of CIC authority, and give it to Congress which is led by Pelosi.
4. And asked them where many hundreds of billions of dollars are going in BOTH bills just passed.
I want it all on tape now!
Then I would have sincerely warned them, if they didn’t fix all the above *YESTERDAY*, I would start a new national party within 24 hours, and destroy Mcconnell’s leadership in the Senate by causing him to lose everything in Georgia, and everything going forward.
Then I would say to Mcconnell on camera, “YOUR CHOICE”!!!
That is what I would have done before the Republicans voted to overrides my veto.
Any more questions as to the Uniparty? The Founders knew exactly what they were doing when they passed the 2nd Amendment!
Can someone please list the 109 RINOS who overturned the Presdents veto, please. Iam so disgusted that I can’t even look!!!!
McCain, Graham, McConnell won because the elections are rigged to the highest bidder, don’t you understand that? A new party will have NO chance winning anything.
What we have learned from November 3rd, is that elections have been fake going back decades. Americans do NOT choose their government, it is chosen by powerful global oligarchs. WAKE UP!
The only thing they are good at is getting people to make phone calls and, mailing out appeals for money. I am done giving them money. The RINO’s need to be starved out of existence.
