Let's start in 2000. That year, former Texas Gov. George W. Bush absolutely annihilated Democrat Al Gore in Texas, winning 59.3% of the vote to Gore's 37.9%. Bush won by 1.3 million votes of about 6 million cast.
Bush crushed Democrat John Kerry in 2004, 61.1% to 38.2%. That time he won by nearly 1.7 million votes of some 7 million ballots cast.
But things began to change when Barack Obama ran for president. While the late Sen. John McCain defeated the Democrat in 2008, he got just 55.4% of the vote to Obama's 43.6%. And McCain won by fewer than 1 million votes of about 8 million ballots cast.
Utah Sen. Mitt Romney took the margin back above that million-vote mark, defeating Obama in Texas by more than 1.2 million votes of about 8 million ballots cast as he took the state by 57.1% to 41.3%.
Yet President Trump couldn't match those numbers in 2016. He won 52.1% to Democrat Hillary Clinton's 43.1%. And he won by slightly more than 800,000 votes of some 8.5 million cast.
Things got worse in 2020, when Trump got 52.1% of the vote to Joe Biden's 46.5%. While a win, his margin was just more than 600,000 votes — of nearly 11 million cast.
You read that right: 11 million. That's double the number of votes cast in the state in 1996.

I am old enough to remember when Texas was as Democrat controlled as California. My county did not elect a single Republican to any office from Reconstruction until the mid 1990s. My county has not elected a Democrat for any office since 2005.

I have a problem with forgetting what biden stands for and then get all excited in line to vote for failure..lies...stupidity.

What is it that these people just can’t wrap their heads around? Hannity is still urging people to get out to vote in Georgia. Does he really think it’s going to matter since the massive voter fraud was never dealt with? And do these people think that the Democrats will ever allow a free and fair election? You don’t think this will be implemented in more States for the mid-terms? They don’t need Texas, they don’t fear you, they control all the counting.
If Trump isn’t POTUS for the next four years the whole country will turn blue/communist/socialist

Like I said on another thread-most of us over 65 care more for our freedom than getting what amounts to one house payment per month from SS-from a fund that is already broke from being raided for years-and there is NO LOCKBOX-Al Gore lied about that-but if you’re worried about your SS in an independent Texas-or other state, then stay in a state that isn’t likely to split off from a socialist USSA...
Without sending taxes to fedzilla, Texas-and other states-could invest the SS fund and pay us all more than the pittance the fed pays-there is this thing called interest on investments that would raise that amount Besides, i don’t know anyone who doesn’t either own a one-or-two person business and work at it all week unless they are severely disabled-at any age-retirement on a fixed income is not really an attractive prospect to many of us...

Looking for the “Texas will never turn blue” crowd and this thread isn’t disappointing.
Texas will turn blue because Texas is turning blue.
Like saying “my house isn’t on fire” while watching smoke billow out the windows with the firemen.
If The Democrats succeed in stealing the Presidency, Republicans will never be elected to the Presidency again and after one or two more election cycles, will never again be elected to any national office and more and more will be shut out of local offices. A Biden “win” instantly institutionalizes and renders normal all the methods that were used to steal this election. They don’t even have to suck in a couple more Democrat States like Puerto Rico and DC. A win this time gives them total control of the vote. A Republican retention of the two GA senate seats will avail the Republic nothing. McConnell and many if not most Republican Senators will go along to get along and will pass whatever the Democrats push. The COurts will be simply ignored if not supportive and our three new USSC Trump appointees seem quite willing to avoid controversy and will go along with the trashing of the Constitution. The 2Amd will go bye-bye as well as the First and, who knows? the Democrats may decide they need to quarter troops in private homes.
Like I said, how can we tell?
Think again if the presumption is that I’m going to take CNN exit polls at face value, even for the 2016 election.
