It would be easy to shame Destiny Christian Church, its members and its pastor, Greg Fairrington, for selfishly ignoring multiple state-imposed orders to cease indoor gatherings — an especially reckless act given Placer County’s restricted intensive care unit capacity which recently dipped to zero.
But in a spirit of compassion that seems more apt this holiday season, here’s my message to Destiny: I am appealing to your Christian values of moral responsibility and love for your neighbors and urging you to remain in the safety of your homes this Christmas. Because this is the only way to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and save lives.

I have a brother in Placer county - he is totally on board with everything liberal - Placer tends to be a bit more of what passes for “conservative” in California but it is also filled with commies.
My church says: “ought we to obey man, or God?”
My church would also say, if asked: “limit all Mexican family gatherings to 2”.
They are 70% of the hospital utilization at this time.
I haven’t attended church regularly for quite a long time, but I went to a Christmas eve service with my sister’s family Thursday evening. And it was at a church which has been in the headlines recently, because they don’t enforce social distancing or use of masks.
It was refreshing to go to a gathering where I could actually see people’s faces.
