Glenn Greenwald, co-founder of The Intercept, said the media’s coverage of the coronavirus pandemic was the "worst event of media misconduct.”
Speaking on Hill.TV’s “Rising,” Greenwald said that the media's coverage of the pandemic was initially geared toward forcing people to stay home, and shaming those who went outside for acting irresponsibly.
Greenwald then added that the media shifted its tone around its coverage after the protests against police brutality over the summer following the police killing of George Floyd in May.
“Suddenly, it all turned to ‘What these people are doing is noble,’” he said. “And not only do you no longer have the obligation to stay at home, you now have the obligation to go and march against racism on the grounds that racism is the worst public [threat] than the coronavirus pandemic.”
Greenwald noted that despite its coverage of the protests, the media continued to shame people who went to church or gathered for outdoor protests for different causes.
“What it really made it seem like was there’s no trust or confidence due to public health authorities or media narratives surrounding this pandemic,” he said. “That they’re just manipulating this messaging to sanction certain events that they find politically palatable while demanding everybody stay home for the things that they don’t value .”

If I never tuned in to my Metro Detroit Action News TV station I wouldn’t know how fun a pandemic can be.
I think the crossover occurs on liberty or constitutional issues with some liberals (a very small number of publicly known ones) and maybe just common sense/honesty rather than the propaganda you get from some on the media networks i.e Democrat party loyalists who only care for power.
Obviously I do not endorse abortion, the welfare state or whatever ...
In Oregon, the stated waited 9 months to tell us that over 50% of Covid deaths are nursing home residents.
He is straightforward and honest.
I think the big problem we have at this point is that there are millions upon millions of people who realize they’ve fallen for the biggest hoax in history, but are so bullheaded they will never admit they fell for a con. That makes it much harder to achieve “Herd Immunity” to blatant gaslighting.
That’s a huge hurdle in the election steal, too.

You aren’t going to get any flame from me either. Greenwald is one of the few classic liberal journalists left. Classic liberals stand up for EVERYONES rights, the so called liberals of today are hard core Marxists. They want to silence anyone who disagrees with them.

Great RANT, Vendome. I agree. I’m having a difficult time discerning the good from the bad, and I consider myself very well-informed. Since self-retired for medical reasons for the last 2 yrs, I spend at least 80 hrs per week reading. I realize most others do not have the time. I have a vast amount of books...history and current politicos writings. I have zero distractions for my time and take reams of notes while trying to connect dots. I enjoy doing it although it is overwhelming at times.
I always try to say what I mean and mean what I say. I would never have a hidden agenda. If I make mistakes, I acknowledge...apologize and continue forward. As new info comes in from reliable sources I change my opinions as needed to be more accurate and closer to truth as far as I can discern.
