This was a BIG DEAL in Texas. I once heard the prosecutor in this case - he sounded more like he worked for Chairman Mao during the Cultural Revolution, rather than anyone with a strong case. President Bush, back then, wouldn’t pardon these guys as that would have ‘hurt our relationship with Mexico’.
...and people wonder why Trump got elected.
C’est Magnifique.
“A Texas jury convicted the pair of assault with serious bodily injury; assault with a deadly weapon; discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence; and a civil rights violation.”
It’s time we, JURIES, put an end to political prosecutions...just make up your mind at the beginning (in this case it was a no-brainer), and let the prosecutors do their song and dance, and then vote NOT GUILTY.
Well, let's not be too hard on him. He couldn't find a pen.
“...On one such occasion in 2005..”
That would have been during the criminal George Bush jr’s presidency.
“So tell us Max, what is the importance and relevancy of this fact?”
She should have been the one in prison. That’s what.
Is that prosecuting attorney still breathing?
Why?
Alito was his
Excellent!
Their treatment should haunt GWB to his grave.
“Alito was his”
He was.
But recall that Alito was his 2nd choice, a choice forced upon him by the base after he had already attempted to give us another mush, another John Roberts: Harriet Myers.
I painfully remember.
Bush 43 was pretty horrible.
Let me damn him with faint praise. He was only slightly better than Clinton
“Let me damn him with faint praise. He was only slightly better than Clinton”
That was by design. But arguably, he was worse than Clinton. He deprived us of 8 years of a proper conservative President by pretending to be one himself, and then doing nothing that he said he would do.
I rank Bush worse than Obama tbh. At least Obama gave us Trump.
