Cruz Urges Trump to Send Iran Deal and Climate Agreement to Senate So They Can Fail
PJ Media ^ | Dec. 22, 2020 | Rick Moran

Posted on 12/23/2020 1:28:39 PM PST by Mean Daddy

Senator Ted Cruz sent a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to send both the Iran nuclear agreement and Paris climate accords to the Senate for ratification. Since the Senate won’t agree to advise and consent to either deal, requesting a vote would force Biden into a confrontation and could precipitate a constitutional crisis.

I agree - this is the right thing to do. These were treaties. Should have made Commie-Rats vote on both just prior to the election, but better now than never.

Our embassy in Baghdad got hit Sunday by several rockets. Three rockets failed to launch. Guess where they were from: IRAN. Now we hear chatter of additional attacks against Americans in Iraq... pic.twitter.com/0OCL6IFp5M— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 23, 2020

If I were Trump, I would be leaving as many booby-traps and landmines planted around there for the Marxist’s to blow their feet off with.

Treaties, LOL!

They do not have to be ratified anymore.

Clinton proved that in ‘93 when the Senate refused to ratify the U.N. Convention on Biodiversity. Known as the Agenda 21/Sustainable Development treaty.

Clinton issued E.O. 12852 which created The Presidents Council on Sustainable Development committees which was tasked with creating the pathways for implementing the provisions of the un-ratified U.N. Treaty into domestic policy.

And it was done without objection.

If I were Trump, I would de-classify as many documents as possible. Expose all swamp weasels (dems and pubs alike) And lay low for 6 months so the media will be besides themselves.

Even if the senate remains 52R-48D I am sure that Mittens, Collins, Sasse, Murkowski, and couple others would be iffy at best to not vote to ratify. I would only take 3 to defect.

I think Mitt is dying to get some global warming street cred with Greta by voting to ratify

They need 2/3 senate majority to pass a treaty.

A treaty needs 60 votes to pass.

I should have double checked that 60 vote remark.... It’s 2/3rds, so 67 votes.

An EO created by one president can be undone by another president. There force of law exists only as long as the originator remains in office.

Unless ratification requires a two-thirds vote that’s a bad idea. There can be no doubt that at least two or three RINOs (and probably more) would vote to approve.

Senator Cruz has really come around these past four years.

Trump whupped him pretty badly. He stood back up, brushed himself off, and became one of the president's strongest allies. He's also ditched a lot of his cringiness and become much more of a statesman.

He's definitely positioning himself for 2024.
