Americans bought a record number of firearms in 2020 amid a year that challenged our conventional wisdom about civil liberties, showed us the delicate balance between law and order and even strained the country’s supply chains.
While gun sales generally increase in presidential election years, 2020 has been one for the record books, and it still isn’t over. President Donald Trump has vowed to continue fighting to challenge the Nov. 3 election results that show he lost to Democrat Joe Biden in a number of key swing states.
Additionally, many states still have their residents under the thumb of some form of draconian lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

That could be true. So, anyone check ‘safe’ sales? 😂
I don’t think it’s as bad as all that. Many of those new gun owners became new gun owners because they watched in horror as the government they always thought would coddle them cradle to grave collapsed around them. Police were held back or called off entirely. Rioters ruled the streets around them. Buildings burned all around them. Fire department couldn’t get close due to safety concerns.
All those wonderous government systems they believed in failed. And what did they do in response? Bought a gun. Now when the government comes back and says “oh, hey, you don’t really need that, I’ll take care of you!”, at least some of them will be smart enough to realize that’s a fool’s bet.
Agreed, and well stated.

If you had to guess, what would you say the breakdown would be regarding new owner vs prior and Antie Fah vs Normal Hooman?
Send me a Ruger LCR in 22LR.
It’s for the wife.
Very easy for the govt to learn who owns a gun. Has nothing to do with registration. All sorts of computer generated analytical profiles available to them. They will be 98% accurate without asking a question.
If that happens, RINO Republicans deserve all the credit for it.
Very few Antifags in our shop.
65% are new gun owners, many in their 40’s and 50’s, yesterday had a 90 year old man and his wife buying one for home defense.
Over here the shelves are basically bare and ammo has been moved to customer service with a 3 box limit
The bodyguard is pocketable and is more shootable than the LCP, etc.
OTOH I’m more confident with a .22wmr lightweight revolver as a pocket gun. There’s a better chance of hitting a bg, especially in comparison to an LCP, and even if you don’t you might set him on fire.
I’d rather have two AR platforms and 20k rounds than ten ARs and twenty rounds. Maybe I’m just crazy.
I lost a Sig 365 in a boating accident but really thought it was a great firearm for conceal carry. Give it a look.
How many that just bought a gun are going to volunteer for a Bye-DUNG buy back?
I switch from a G43 to the Sig 365 awhile back. For CC I agree with you. Quality product. Highly recommended.
I never believed that they would get rid of background check data. I always thought they would just ignore the law or they would make copies for "training purposes" and then fully comply with deleting the originals or any number of games that allow them to lie about keeping the data. Many states allow private sales without a background check.
I’m with you on that.
I stocked up when they were fixing to install the Kenyan from Indonesia.
It is a great gun, works better with heavier grain projectiles in my experience, 124 or 147 grain.
I believe that a substantial part of that 21 million were bought by the communists...
We need to get the fun started ASAP, before they have a chance to become proficient...
