I understand your point but I submit that civility in D.C. is dead and has been for some time. And the election and its aftermath has made any sort of healing or unity impossible so why even try?

Newt’s big problem, reflected in all his presidential campaigns and throughout his whole career, that’s always fundamentally made him a lightweight, is that there are two Newts, a bad one ad a good one. Whenever he gets up in the morning he doesn’t know which will come out or when it will. Indeed, each can come out at different times in the same day. That makes him entertaining but disqualifies him for major offices. This is one of his Bad Newt times.

Newt thinks he’s a master at deception, and from this he thinks he’s a visionary.

First he says something to make us think he’s on our side.

Biden supported the Impeachment of President Trump as did many that will be attending. There's no reason to attend - it won't advance the healing process or bind the wounds already inflicted. Perhaps another event can do that.

We need to stop listening to self anointed celebrities who think their opinions are so much better than our own. That was Trumps mistake, listening to anyone other than himself.

MY opinion is that everyone who voted for Trump should stop working tomorrow and claim fear of COVID prevents employment and apply for unemployment and never work again until Trump is president. That would take courage and commitment but it would not take long for it to break the stranglehold that China has on us. All the U.S. investments tank and they are done. Also, picket lines for wetback scabs manned by big guys with bats might be needed. Fighting back in a peaceful way, i.e, the non-existent justice system, is not working so what is left?
