Tuesday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich sounded off on the prospect of President Donald Trump attending President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration after contesting the 2020 presidential election results over allegations of voter fraud.
Gingrich told Hugh Hewitt, host of “The Hugh Hewitt Show,” that Trump needs to figure out which option between attending the inauguration or skipping it is better for his message. However, Gingrich said the outgoing president should “probably” end up going because it is the routine.

Neither John Adams nor John Quincy Adams attended inauguration of their successors there is Precedent
Establishment Politician. SOP
More unhelpful and contradictory advice from the Great Equivocator!!!
Exactly, if Newt’s not accepting Biden why does he want the President to pretend he does?
What does it mean to say “I don’t accept...” without doing anything whatsoever?
The President should absolutely not attend the inauguration of an illegitimate president. Let his supporters attend and make their “don’t accepts” clear.
Fakenews.
“I think that we’ve only had a couple of presidents in history who didn’t. John Quincy Adams didn’t. And the Republicans in 1868 didn’t. But other than those two, it’s a routine. If he does not go, I think he has to explain why. And I’ve written a piece on why I will not give up, in which I’m pretty aggressive about this in general. Not so much the election, but the whole process of where the country is right now, which I think is extraordinarily dangerous. So I think Trump’s got to decide, you know, what best communicates his message.”
“I think his instinct is not to go because he’s convinced the election was stolen,” he added.
Why, if I may ask?
Why? So the Commies will suddenly like him? Who cares?
No way!
Trump would label such an inauguration a Fake Inauguration.
Because that’s what it would be.
Send the Puddin’ Pie. He forgives cheating.
Trump should be there, if only to say, “Joe Biden, you have the right to remain silent.........................
Sorry Newt, no.
At the point that Biden is sworned in I really won’t care where Trump is, where he goes, and would prefer to never hear from him again. He failed—rolled more than once on issues he got elected on, drew lines in the sand on, etc. He played cheap on fighting the election steal—apparently not wanting to spend his money to defend his election. Once he’s gone, we’ll have to see who might represent our interests honestly and with integrity. None of the current Republicans fit that bill—look at the ones that voted for the current legislation and even H1B give away. They voted unannoumously.
Can’t have an inauguration for a non president only a pretend bash.
It shows a certain amount of civility. There is nothing wrong with fighting it tooth and nail in the basement, but showing civilized decorum in the living room.
And yes, I know some may say it may give the appearance of adding legitimacy, but I don’t think it really does.

They’re teeing up yet another Spending Bill!

Every President can benefit from advice.
Talk tough and fold before action required? Newt, Trump, and others fit that mold perfectly.
