It shows a certain amount of civility. There is nothing wrong with fighting it tooth and nail in the basement, but showing civilized decorum in the living room.
And yes, I know some may say it may give the appearance of adding legitimacy, but I don’t think it really does.
I understand your point but I submit that civility in D.C. is dead and has been for some time. And the election and its aftermath has made any sort of healing or unity impossible so why even try?
These same people to whom you say we must show civility used anarchists and racists to kill, maim, burn, steal and inflict so much terror, the politicians and judges refuse to do their jobs right.
