Senate leadership hammered out a bipartisan deal to block President Trump from possibly vetoing the defense authorization bill, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced early Tuesday.

“The Democrat leader and I have agreed to unanimous request as follows: The Senate will meet for pro forma sessions only until Dec. 29 when we will return to session,” the top Republican said from the Senate floor.

By definition, a deal to block the leader of the R party cannot be a bipartisan deal!

The GOP never accepted Reagan but he was so popular that they couldn't really fight him. Instead they waited him out and Bush I then dismantled his legacy.

This time around the GOP actively fought Trump tooth and nail the entire time. When they had the house and Senate they refused to dump Obamacare, they refused to fund the wall, they refused refused refused and when the blowback began they simply made a strategic decision: concede the house and let democrats take the heat / credit for being the resistance. So a bunch of safe GOP house members suddenly retired and a bunch of others tanked their campaigns and problem solved.

The think they can pull off another 'erasing Reagan' but I don't see it happening. After Trump the base does not want to see uniparty hacks like McConnell and the Bushes retaking the GOP. But obviously they think they can do it and are showing it now. The result: that dead party is going to splinter; their side will get the donors and our side will get the voters. But they planned for that too: they conspired with dems to ensure that elections were all just pre-programmed theater. In our future scripted elections the GOP will be permitted to retain a presence in DC as the fake 'loyal opposition' party for the optics of the so-called 'two party system' and the voters can go ... fornicate themselves. That's the plan.

Every MAGA voters needs to walk away from the GOP. Look at the outrageous omnibus bill. Trillions to foreign countries money created out of whole cloth, creating unmanageable debt. The GOP loves it. Who gives a damn which party runs the Senate. MAGA voters need to walk away now.

The politicians know we won’t go along with them replacing rules and laws with their views of a fake consensus. They would be even more emboldened than they already are if they could take our gun rights away. That’s for sure.

Tried to tell folks about McConnell, but they just had to have
a hero in the Senate. That bastard helped Ryan block Trump
from getting much of anything done during the first two years
with a Republican majority.

We should have had at least ten blockbuster bills out of Congress
that would have protected this nation for decades. Instead
they played footsie with the powers that wanted to deny Trump
his presidency.

I have detested McConnell since I realized what he was up to.

I’ve always played down his wife’s influence on him, but I’m
sorry to say I’ve had to fall in line with those who think
she’s likely an active force for China behind the Senate
throne.

It should be all out war on wall these bastards.

Folks, the bill hasn’t been overridden yet.

And talk is cheap.

Trump wasn’t our last hope. He’s still there. There’s still hope.

Washington’s war took seven years and his enemies wore red coats.

Patience.

Trump needs to veto the NDAA and Omnibus’s bill. Force the GOP to own them. He should sign the COVID bill to give people relief. If they combined the COVID and omnibus still veto. Trump’s name should not be on that monstrosity. Go on live TV from the Oval Office describe what is in that bill and how they are screwing over the American people.

Nothing will change until politicians start falling from wounds. It’s the cold hard reality.

For whatever reason Trump is not fighting both sides equally. He thinks he needs a team but whether or not he calls out the Repukes they are not on his side, he is not on their team. He should be fighting them every bit as hard as the the Rats.

I’m seriously thinking of switching to Independent but then again, what good will that do? I would never vote for a Democrat.

How long can Trump just let it sit on his desk?

It’s called waiting out the clock. We’ve see a lot of that over the last 4 years.

Exactly. This is helping conservatives get out and vote in the GA run offs?

Truth is, the GOP would really rather be in the minority. Don’t have to work so hard to appear the be representing the people.

Whether the President stays as we all hope or goes because the election fraud coup prevails on January 6, he’s got nothing to lose at this point and should be doing whatever he wants and needs to do. That includes firing that sorry SOB Christopher Wray, and vetoing both this defense bill and the covid bill.

How long can Trump just let it sit on his desk?

Ten calendar days excluding Sundays. That means until Christmas eve. Then it becomes law.
