Senate leadership hammered out a bipartisan deal to block President Trump from possibly vetoing the defense authorization bill, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced early Tuesday.
“The Democrat leader and I have agreed to unanimous request as follows: The Senate will meet for pro forma sessions only until Dec. 29 when we will return to session,” the top Republican said from the Senate floor.

Does this defense bill slow down or even stop the planned withdrawal of troops from places like Afghanistan?
That, to me would be a dealbreaker.
Most the country is ready to walk away from heavy American occupation in those areas.
We have gone back to “prior Trump”...the Deep State are ecstatic.
Some say that Trump, family and supporters will be punished. This is the first of the punishment.
None for me, thanks. Too much to do that requires a clear head.
That evil POS Schmucker doesn’t really need to be in charge of the Senate to be effective........Turtle is there to do it for him........I hate these SOB’s.......Trump came in and tried to undo some of the damage these arseholes created and only got hate and vindictiveness from the Deep State! These politicians are so deep in BS they have no pride, no love of country and we need to primary so many of them in the Republican Party......there’s a few in the Senate and House that are doing the right thing and support our President........but very few!! The Demonrats are a lost cause......we KNOW they have no guts......Peeloosley will get ‘em if they don’t tow the line....
The word I think fits best for the GOP is “amputation”. It will hurt and it is extreme but it has to be done. I’ve been holding my nose for thirty years. It is time to move on.

Not really. The Republicans in Congress like the defense bill, including all the neocon planks that keep us from bringing troops home from Afghanistan and Syria Also, the Republicans oppose Trump. The Democrats aren’t forcing the Republicans to be a party of regime-change wars and America last.
Back in business now that they think Trump is out.
