It’s an owl. There’s no reason to kill her.
A couple of observations: 1) There was no reason for her to kill an owl, except that she was a sociopath or psychopath.
2) This is mexico, where cousins stab cousins in card games, so the value of life in Mexico, is cheap. Coming to a neighborhood, or should I say, a barrio near all of us, soon.
Maybe not.
She might have been the crazy neighbor everyone knows is going to snap eventually and someone decided to do a preemptive strike.
Then again she might have been the beloved do gooder of the neighborhood who just had a weird owl fetish.
First is more likely but can not rule out the second.
Clearly, she was a psychopath.
NO ONE in their right mind does that to an animal...
When a purported “human” destroys a work of G_d simply because it desires attention, said “human” will attract attention to itself. Some of that attention may or may not be of a negative nature. That this “human” was less than HUMANE in its treatment of the nocturnal creature may have influenced some to use rather extreme means to express their displeasure with her actions regarding the “mere animal”.

If that was the reason, it doesn’t bother me.
Owls are premier Mice/rat killers.
