Dem steering committee bucks AOC, picks other NY lawmaker for coveted spot

Energy and Commerce Committee would handle issues like Green New Deal, Medicare-for-all

The House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee on Thursday voted to seat Rep. Kathleen Rice on a coveted committee over her New York colleague Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in the latest example of House Democrats bucking the firebrand who represents the Bronx and Queens.

With five open slots on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., nominated four people and left the fifth spot open for members to choose between the two New Yorkers in a vote, Politico first reported. Fox News confirmed that Rice decisively won the vote 46-13.

The Energy and Commerce Committee handles some of the most critical legislation in the House, from the environment to health care to nuclear facilities. Its site says that it "has the broadest jurisdiction of any authorizing committee in Congress."

The defeat for Ocasio-Cortez comes after the high-profile lawmaker entering her second term made combative comments about Democratic leadership in Congress in an interview on "The Intercept" this week.

Betcha she is going to primary Schumer... And she very well might beat the incumbent, just like she did to get her House seat.

The pretty little irony is that AOC is disliked for the same reason as Trump: she doesn’t play nice in the swamp.

This is just cruel. If she can’t serve on a committee and extort its victims, how can she ever become a multimillionaire? What’s the use of even being in Congress at that point?

My bet is her place is about to be gerrymandered out of existence.

Hey, don't blame New Yorkers for the caliber of politicians; look at the voting machines.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_electronic_voting_machines_in_New_York_state

" Dominion Voting Systems ImageCast is used in 52 of the state's 62 counties.[6]
The contracts were originally awarded to Sequoia Voting Systems but Dominion acquired the company in 2010.
However, the machines in some of the state's largest cities such as New York City, Buffalo, New York and Albany, New York are
the DS200 Ballot Scanner by Election Systems & Software."

But, current evidence demonstrates that Dominion voting machines have a credibility issue.
I'm not sure whether the total voting machines listed above is current.

AOC probably has some experience hiding tip income from the IRS but we are talking major league graft and griftting with Biden in office. Solyndra will see like chump change compared to what’s about to happen. Only hard core party loyal thieves allowed for this breakin.
