Germany is to go into a hard lockdown over the Christmas period as the number of deaths and infections from the coronavirus reaches record levels.
Non-essential shops will close across the country from Wednesday, as will schools, with children to be cared for at home wherever possible.
Chancellor Angela Merkel blamed Christmas shopping for a "considerable" rise in social contacts.
The latest figures showed 20,200 more infections and a further 321 deaths.
The new lockdown will run from 16 December to 10 January. Announcing the move after meeting leaders of the country's 16 states, Mrs Merkel said there was "an urgent need to take action".

Could be worse. They could be going into France. [/jk]
Berger-meister-meister-berger!!
Wow, a whole 321 deaths.
I guarantee that the of 321 deaths over half were not related to COVID and that most of the rest would have died from any infection due to old age. If i saw this planscamdemic in a Twilight Zone episode I would have thought it was impossible for the whole world to behave this way.
Well of course they will.
Anyhow, I guess this is like a long story... back on Black Friday we were in a large chain clothes shop called C&A. They had Advent Calendars for sale. They are basically large boxes of chocolates and every day starting on December 1 you open one chocolate compartment and continue up to December 24, having yourself a tasty chocolate piece each day. Also there is a chance to win with a gift card in days 6 and 24. You can win 5, 10, 20, 50, 250, or 500 euros (you can probably see were this is going). My wife wanted to buy this thing because they were on sale for 5 euros instead of 10. I said I am diabetic and you and our daughter don't like chocolate (what kind of freaks don't like chocolate?) but if you must then buy one box. Turned out she bought three boxes.
Today we planned to go shopping but because no one eats chocolate the boxes were not opened. Before we left my wife opened the three boxes for day six so we could take the cards to C&A and check there for what we won (the gift cards don't tell you what you won, you have to go to the cash register person and they scan it and tell you.).
The lines to get in the store and then for paying at the cash register were insane so we quickly grabbed some nice clothes for our daughter and waited a looong time on line. We finally got to to pay and when they scanned the three cards they were for 5, 10 and 500 euros! The lady freaked out and called over other workers and they were amazed. There are only 5 cards for 500 euros in 250,000 Advent Calendars in all of Germany.
You can see the chances on the back of the box in this picture I took (the lady wrote the amounts on the cards which I put on the box. One is 473.09 euros left of 500 because of the stuff we bought).
This picture shows the front. You can see no one is eating the chocolates.
That's my (our) Germany coronavirus lock-down Christmas story.
Best Wishes To You All! 🎄🎅

My wife and I went to a mall just south of Stuttgart, it was busy and there were lines. However it wasn’t the madhouse I thought it would be. I wonder how many small businesses here in Germany won’t make it to January? We have a small shoe store in our town. They closed in March and we have not seen them open since. It’s eerie walking by and seeing no changes in months.
So many shops have already closed it’s sad.
Goes to show how tight profits are.
Sadly, the Germans are very good at following the rules and quick to subjugate themselves to authority.
Give them a title, white lab coat/uniform and a stamp (Stemple) and that’s it. I’m surprised the German TUV hasn’t created mask tests yet, or that they haven’t created a new Coronavirus meister to inspect people on the streets. Seriously, once the Germans jump on any bandwagon (recycling with their idiotic Gruener Punkt, global warming, building wind turbines and shutting down their nuke plants...) they take it to an extreme and think because they can take the stupidity further than anyone else, that makes them smarter and better some how.
Something that isn’t a German strong point: Questioning things and not giving a rats ass what others thing. It you want a society that is a giant example of “group think,” look no further. It literally does not matter what the issue is, they quickly all create a common agreement “Zeitgeist” and if you do not agree with that, well shit, you may as well have a penis growing out of your forehead (socially ostracized, legal trouble, etc.). Conformity is required.
I wish, just for one time, they wouldn’t pick up on all the stupid shit from here and actually go their own way when that makes sense. But no. Every idiotic fad in the US, from the homo agenda, radical feminism, corona virus, to black lives matter, they copy it all... I suppose that tells you about the cultural influence the US news media (massive international conglomerates), Hollywood, and the pop culture with it’s music etc. Isn’t it about time for another German Turkish rapper talking about his plight growing up in the hood and troubles with the cops? LOL
It’s looking like this whole corona crap is a world wide takeover. Mass bk, mass unemployment worldwide, communism to the rescue!
You all will be the talk of the town for sure.
Sounds like a great Christmas time activity too.
Sounds like your daughter maybe needs to be introduced to Dark Chocolate.... 🤣
Dark Chocolate,
Of Course!
KC_Lion, You Are The Best!
The virus is killing the elderly with underlying conditions, no doubt about that. But it’s clear that we have overreacted.
Here is my thoughts on it in verse:
Red autumn leaves fall.
Was this murder by the wind?
Or was it their time?
We cannot blame the wind for dying leaves falling in autumn. An elderly person already at death's door will likely die from the common cold, a bacterial sinus infection, or a simple fall. We are being ruled by tyrants who know exactly how evil their lockdown policies are.
