A Common-Sense Solution
The American Mind ^ | 12/14/20 | Tom Trenchard

We are two Americas: Biden’s America and Trump’s America. These two Americas have nothing of importance in common with each other, and no common ground to stand on. There is not a single moral or political principle upon which these two Americas agree. Sure, everybody wants “freedom,” “justice,” “equality,” “democracy,” and a host of other glittering ideals. So have most dictators, Communists, and war criminals in modern history. Lenin, Stalin, and Mao gave stirring speeches in favor of all of them. The reality is that in the United States, we have long since ceased to do anything more than pay lip service to a sham facsimile of our old shared ideals.

What does this mean for us? If we are not held together as a nation by anything except the fact that we live in the same place (and, of course, even this isn’t true of parts of the U.S.), then we are not members of a common political community. Our union is built on what Alexander Hamilton called “accident and force” in the very first Federalist paper. We are subjects, not self-governing citizens.

I dunno, maybe find an island 5,000 miles away from any landmass and put "them" all on it? :-)

I’m not going to let a few thousand thieves steal some of my country.

Not one square inch.

Biden couldn’t get a couple of dozen paid lackeys to come to his campaign rallies for free hamburgers.

Now, thousands of them are going to fight and die for him?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Eight years under Grand Caliph Baraq and the Chicago Mob was no picnic, but we persisted.

My own prediction is that Trump v. Harris in 2024 is a solid Trump win.

Although with the 38 evs of Texas gone, it will still be a tight race on an electoral vote basis.

Welcome to National California. Still lots of patriotic normal Americans. But permanently outnumbered by ghetto voters, imported third-world-voters, and self-loathing- ideologue-voters.

Cut the big cities loose and let them become self-governing city-states. Any libs who choose to live under the leftist boot can move to a city. If they behave themselves, the rest of the country will sell them food.

They're seceding in 2021.

I read it on FR.

The conflict in general boils down to corporate vs. individual life. Both are necessary, but how one understands each, and to what degree each applies, there can easily be an imbalance resulting in tyranny. To set aside the practice of 1 person, 1 vote is a direct assault on the balance and tension that should attend to a vibrant, sustainable Republic.

“””These two Americas have nothing of importance in common with each other, and no common ground to stand on.”””

Mark Steyn, sitting in for Rush, was saying the same thing today.

Hmmmm. Have not read the commentary, but the author give a hat tip to Steyn?

Those Texas electoral votes, which by 2022 will be 40 or 41 are not going anywhere. Texas will remain a Republican state.

Personally I think there is zero chance of Texas seceding by 2024.

With all the bravado and tough talk, nobody has presented a scenario how it would happen. State referendum? Legislative bill with governor’s signature? Governor executive order?

Texas was only +6 for Trump (52/46)...that doesn’t sound like a margin that would pass a referendum to secede OR elect a legislature to pass that bill.

If you are assuming that Texas will secede and we lose 38 ELVs, we would lose more then that. Should Texas succeed, which is a big if, then other States would follow suit. It would result in mass migrations as people moved to the States that reflected their beliefs. Will that happen, probably, one day, just not in my lifetime.

Now, if you believe Texas will go Blue. That is a legit concern with Californians moving into Texas. New Yorkers (NYC types), Chicagoan's and Californians are insane political cockroaches. They move into Red areas to get away from the BS in Blue urban areas and then they vote for the same BS. Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. They ruined Colorado and Arizona, they ruined the Collar Counties in Illinois and they will ruin what ever State they migrate to. I would almost prefer church going Illegal Mexicans then New Yorkers.

You have the process correct. Texas is not going anywhere.

No way in heck do folks in Houston, DFW, El Paso, RGV, San Antonio and Austin want Texas to be independent.

The part that is really troubling is that people from Cal and NY leave and vote liberal in their new states.

AND

The people who REPLACE the move-outs (mostly immigrants legal and illegal) are even MORE LIBERAL. You can see this in the composition of their state legislatures with increasing Dem percentages.

Considering the population changes.
The southern blue areas might become part of mexico.

Texas will have a hard time defending their border. Kalifornia will sign half the state over.

Biden’s world is on the coasts. The real world is contained within. We can live without them, but they cannot live without China.

Eff em &the horses they rode in on. Surround them, wait for the collapse, and move in.

Not kidding. Imagine no New York or California. Crime, illiteracy, idiocy, and wackos reduced by greater than 90%.

Well they did gain 70,000 new voters this month, at least someone did because they entered.
