Rep. Paul Mitchell of Michigan quit the Republican Party on Monday over the GOP’s refusal to admit that President Donald Trump lost the election to President-elect Joe Biden.
Mitchell, in a scathing letter to GOP leaders, wrote that Trump’s baseless claims alleging widespread ballot fraud, and the Republican Party’s tolerance of those claims, threatened “long-term harm to our democracy.”

Well there was no word from Ted based on the fact that it would’ve been too premature. Now that the EC has voted, I expect Cruz or maybe Rand Paul too officially object to accepting the EC results on January 6. Time will tell.

If you want my opinion Ted Cruz is appearing to help Trump as a way to pave his path to 2024 nomination. He is still on a lot of people 'never' list after he used his 2016 convention speech to urge the GOP to refuse to nominate Trump. There is no question that will be raised as that campaign proceeds. He needs to distance himself from it. So offering to argue a case he probably expected wouldn't even make it to the court was a good way to wave his arms, shout 'look at me! I'm a Trump guy! Forget about that convention stuff!'
I like Ted Cruz but he's a politician with aspirations to rise. His actions need to be evaluated through that lens.
Satan truly has blinded the eyes of so many people. Imagine believing that someone who has prevailed in a contest by cheating is a winner. Imagine criticizing those who object to the cheating. It makes no sense except in the context of eschatology.
Trump was cheated. And so were the votes of 74 million Americans. Nothing this chump is doing is the right thing to do.
