“The first shipments should arrive Monday morning and extensive coordination will ensure that this occurs,” Perna said during a press conference on Saturday morning, hours after the Food and Drug Administration approved the vaccine for emergency use authorization.
“Make no mistake, distribution has begun,” he said. “Now, boxes are being packed and loaded with vaccine and within the next 24 hours they will move the vaccine from the Pfizer facility to the UPS and FedEx hubs. Then it will go up to the locations nationwide which were identified by the states and the territories.”
Perna said he expects 145 sites to receive the vaccine on Monday, another 425 sites on Tuesday, and the final 66 sites on Wednesday to complete the initial delivery of the Pfizer orders for the vaccine. He said at the sites, the vaccine will marry up with ancillary kits that include needles, syringes, and other supplies necessary to administer the vaccine.
He said he expected to have distributed 40 million doses at the end of the month. He said Operation Warp Speed is also posturing to distribute the Moderna vaccine if it also receives emergency use authorization by the FDA.

Not trying to be a smartass...but can a “flu” that can mutate have a vaccine ? I can see how mumps/polio and other similar afflictions can be isolated and vaccines applied...is this similar .....

As far as I know the flu vaccine is a best guesstimate every year...
That’s what I have read ....and even with the potluck brew they sell or giveaway many die from the FLU.....I have never been to keen on flu shots and had maybe 3 bad colds over the past 30 some odd years....
I just dealt with what I thought was pneumonia...turns out I damaged my lungs when doing a little woodworking with cedar and not wearing a mask.

Some of the healthy people have gotten Bell's Palsy, some more have gotten neurological problems, and one 47 year-old man died of a heart attack a few days after getting his second dose.
So, yeah people with allergy issues should not take the COVID shot. In fact, healthy people shouldn't take it either.

The priest was in Moderna's vaccine trial, not Pfizer's. He was 70 and obese. He got his injections on Aug 23 and Oct 1. He died Nov 27. Details here
Do not defend this vaccine to me. I will not be getting it. You should not be taking it either, and you definitely should not be trying to convince others to get it by downplaying its dangers.
He didn't downplay or "try to convince" anyone of anything. Simply stated the facts. So based on that reply, facts are an irrelevancy to how you want to view and discuss the issue?
