North Carolina Chief Justice Cheri Beasley conceded the election on Saturday.
North Carolina Chief Justice Cheri Beasley conceded the election to Justice Paul Newby on Saturday morning.
She released a statement sharing her thoughts on the transition.
“Today, I called Justice Newby to congratulate him on winning the election for Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court. I offer my very best to him and his family as he moves into that new role."
She shared her enduring gratitude for her volunteers, staff and supporters.
"Their impact will echo far beyond a single year, campaign, or election. For that, and so much more, I am grateful," she wrote.
She said she hopes the values of advocating for equity and applying the tools of justice for the cause of equality continue to define North Carolina's highest court.
NCDP Chairman Wayne Goodwin released a statement in response to her concession, saying, "Chief Justice Beasley broke new barriers and helped create a more just courts system that put people first and always sought to ensure every North Carolinian equal access to the law. [We] know she will continue to play an integral role in moving our state forward."
"To serve this state and the people of North Carolina has been the greatest honor of my life," she wrote.

Justice Newby is a fine Christian man - and the fact the he won - along with the other 7 Republican candidates for all statewide judicial races says in NC at least except for the governorship the fraudsters have not taken full hold of the process.
Just a tiny bit of good news
And Justice Newby winning is a real answer to prayer!
These justices probably were off the fraudster’s radar screen and so made it.
Important with redistricting coming up in 2020. NC will get an extra seat.
After all of this, I’m going to focus much more on the local races like county clerk.
Repubs won NC except somehow how...miraculously....Cooper won again for GOVERNOR. And immediately locked us down again.
Why does the article have a picture of the Democrat loser but not the Republican winner?
It's not the role of a judge to advocate or create anything. This is what is known as an Activist Judge. Their purpose is to make sure the law is applied as written by the legislature and signed by the governor.
Because this was written by the ultra liberal WRALTV staff.
you are probably right
Good to think about.
Am sure the fraudsters made dxxx sure Cooper got his votes.....not caring about the rest. Even Tillis succeeded. That was another miracle.
That’s good news.
Cooper is a snake.
Yes it is good news - and we needed a tiny bit of it.
The reason the fraud was not done on most lower races on ballots is because the boiler rooms that generated the fake mail-in ballots were _regional_ in scope and were on a _mass_ scale.
Many fake ballots probably did not even have the correct names for the local races!
(But, in the corrupt Democratic precincts they were accepted as valid ballots regardless.)
My pastor said today that all our joy is founded on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and everything else is just details.
However, this is still good news. Beasley was totally unqualified to be a judge.
You left out the attorney general spot. Stein probably won by similar fraud.
So true - all you said.
Unfortunately, I found this from the Charlotte Observer:
With his win, Republicans have swept all of North Carolina’s statewide judicial races in the 2020 elections. Victories by Republicans Newby, Phil Berger Jr. and Tamara Barringer leave Democrats with a narrow 4-3 majority on the seven-member North Carolina Supreme Court.
the Dems still have a majority on the NC Supreme Court!!!!! (The other Judges who won were evidently not Supreme Court judges.)
