This has been one far-out year!
UFO sightings across the city are up 31% from last year — 46, compared with 35 — and an eye-popping 283% from 2018’s measly dozen, according to the National UFO Reporting Center.
Brooklyn is tops in tin-foil hatters, with 12 close encounters. Not far behind are Manhattan with 11 and Queens with 10. Staten Islanders claim just eight — despite the borough’s rep for not social distancing. The Bronx is even more grounded, chalking up a mere five.

My theory is this: interstellar travel requires some sort of warp drive, with or without dilithium crystals or beryllium spheres. But if you have warp drive don’t you also have time travel? Which is more likely, visitors from distant galaxies or anthropologists from some time in our distant future? I think they are coming back in time to figure out just what the heck we did to screw things up. 12 Monkeys, anyone? Gives a new meaning to Cole in your stocking.

Used to believe in ETs. Wanted to believe.
But, alas, I don’t.
If hard proof is ever shown I’ll believe.
But for now, it’s just he said she said and grainy, out of focus out of frame pics and video.
Seems to me we’re all there is.

Yep. When phone cameras became standard I said Bigfoot, ghosts and Martians will now be proved or disproved. Sadly...
Although I do have a ghost story of my own...That was 1984 and we didn’t have cameras with us everywhere we went back then. I still wonder if what I saw was photographable.

In this day of megapixel cameras, why is it that ALL of the so-called UFO films and images look like a pixellated something from an '80's video game?
You'd think SOMEONE would have a decent shot

Which is more likely, visitors from distant galaxies or anthropologists from some time in our distant future? Self replicating Von Neumann type probes from our interstellar neighborhood, having been launched a million years ago and having arrived millennia ago, carrying alien AI and DNA and plenty of robotics and cloning knowhow. The saucers aren't flying from other stars, they are flying from local underground/underwater bases.

That is exactly my thought.
We see tornados, lightning sprites, auroras, etc. all in astonishingly clear images but UFOs? Still the same grainy pics as 1950s hubcaps tossed up into the air.
Were it not for credible eye-witness accounts and radar evidence, I would dismiss it entirely.
For now, I’m a doubting and very skeptical Thomas.
People say the Universe is so vast, there MUST be intelligent life everywhere. Nah, not necessarily so.
To: Karma_Sherab
I’ve actually seen some incredible UFO pictures and even videos. However oh, those that I follow turned out to be CGI. It’s kind of ironic when you think about it. We now have the ability to get incredibly clear photos, but also the ability to make incredibly realistic fakes.

well, your timing is perfect. I just finished watching an episode of NASA's deepest secrets or something like that where they were explaining why the pictures from the moon landing didn't show stars
learned a lot about photography from that show.
They also tried having the Hubble look at the landing site on the moon to see if it could find the stuff we left. However, the scientist explained, while showing what the Hubble displayed of the moon, how the lunar lander would be a pixel on that entire screen.

I have digital photos of various wispy things along a riverbank when it was pitch dark. I think they are artifacts of the way the digital camera works, not anything supernatural.
