Over 25 Black ministers sign letter to Georgia Senate Candidate Rev. Raphael Warnock urging him to reconsider his abortion stance

More than two dozen Black pastors, many of them from Georgia, sent a letter to a Democratic Senate candidate Friday urging him to reconsider his stance on abortion heading into a runoff in the Peach State.

“Unborn Black, Brown and White lives are so much more than clumps of cells, burdensome inconveniences, or health problems,” they wrote to the Rev. Raphael Warnock. “They are sacred human persons endowed by God with inalienable dignity and worth. We implore you to uphold the Biblical defense of life and to fight against the systemic racism of abortion.”

They argued that “the pro-abortion movement has been characterized by racism and White supremacy since its inception,” noting that Black women are five times more likely than White women to undergo such a procedure.

“We applaud your commendable efforts to share Christ while pursuing political solutions to our most pressing problems today,” they wrote. “But precisely because we share so much in common with you, we feel compelled to confront your most recent statements concerning abortion.”

Warnock’s campaign questioned how much the signatories actually had in common with the candidate, noting that the list included outspoken supporters of his runoff election opponent, Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler, as well as President Trump – pointing to Bishop Garland Hunt and Dr. Alveda King, a Fox News contributor, in particular.

Hunt appeared at a Trump campaign rally in September and 10 days ago joined the conservative Family Research Council’s “Pray Vote Stand” broadcast to support Loeffler and condemn Warnock’s pro-abortion stance.

“Reverend Warnock believes a patient's room is too small a place for a woman, her doctor, and the U.S. government and that these are deeply personal health care decisions -- not political ones,” Warnock campaign spokesperson Michael J. Brewer told Fox News.

Over 25 Black ministers sign letter

These 25 ministers are evidently democrats . . .what does that tell you about how they are leading their flocks on all the issues. Woe to those who lead their congregations astray. Woe to those who sit Sunday after Sunday in the church pews knowing full well what the Scriptures say and still remain.

Interesting. "Rev." Raphael Warnock is a "Baptist pastor" who strongly and publicly supports abortion-on-demand AND gay marriage.

Apparently he is about as "Baptist" as Nancy Pelosi is "Catholic".

So my question is... who ordained this scumbag? If it was a Catholic pastor running for office while promoting this crap, FR's Catholics would never hear the end of it (and I guarantee you a bunch of protestant FReepers would be sneering "this is why I am a recovering Catholic", even the pro-gay marriage and pro-abortion "Catholic priest" was not even a member of the Catholic church in good standing)

Apparently, Ebenezer Baptist Church is also an self-described “Evangelical Christian” church.

So, if a champion of abortion and “LGBTQ rights” is their pastor, they are apparently as much “evangelical christians” as the People’s Republic of China is a republic of the people.

Liberals have essentially made these words meaningless.

This guy is in the same camp with Obama loving “Father” Pfleger in Chicago. The only god they worship is socialism.

Guess this forum is still old-school with the parentheses in links; needs the percent codes.

A leftist never reconsiders and at any rate, will willfully lie saying anything to be elected so it’s all moot.

Heh. Probably accurate.

As I recall, there were some "Catholic" priests who got elected to Congress in the 70s and voted pro-abortion, but they used the "I'm PERSONALLY against abortion, but..." dog and pony show. This slimeball, on the other hand, openly admits he's FOR abortion, but pretends to be a servant of God anyway. I'm not sure which is worse.

Jan 22 is a Day of Prayer for the legal protection of unborn children. This prayer should be in all our churches and in our spiritual hearts each and everyday of our lives.

Warnock is aligned with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, but he’s smoother about it.

Drinian

On the flip side you had John McLauglin running for Senate from RI (without permission). That would have been cool if he had won.

Yeah, that was it, Drinan. The guy was a textbook example of a PINO (Priest In Name Only). His religion was socialist activism. In any case, he was finally forced to retire from office when the great Pope JPII issued a decree that ordained priests were not to hold political office.

I see a double standard here. I guarantee you that if a CATHOLIC pastor were running for the U.S. Senate right now and loudly championing abortion and gay marriage, a bunch of FReepers would eagerly use the opportunity to demand that "the Catholics" do something about him and cite the SJW PINO as an example of everything that is wrong with Catholicism and why they left the church. They'd then demand the rest of us leave over the scumbag leftist faux "priest" running around promoting the RAT party platform.

But, since the "pastor" doing that is a self-declared "Baptist" and "Evangelical Christian", they just ignore it.

Same thing with how people sneer about how only a handful of Catholic bishops are willing to deny Joe Biden communion for being pro-abortion, and bash Catholics over the rest of the wimpy Catholic clergy turning a blind eye to it.

But nobody is out demanding that Baptist ministers deny allegedly "Baptist" Kamala Harris communion at any Baptist church she wants to visit, or wondering aloud why "the Baptists" don't denounce her for calling herself one of them.

Hmmmmm.

I suspected as much. He is definitely from the Jememiah Wright wing of social justice/black liberation "Christianity", but probably is slick enough to avoid any direct ties to Wright.

The most deceptive one for me is "Rev" James Meeks in Chicago, who is friends with Wright and Obama. He got elected to the Illinois State Senate on a third party ticket because the official RAT party slot was taken. He conned a bunch of gullible Republicans into voting for him because he CLAIMED to be a socially conservative RAT, saying as a minister he felt abortion was murder and homosexuality was an abomination. Then he loudly and publicly endorsed Obama and cheered him on every step of the way, looking the other way when his pal Obama lit up the White House in rainbow colors. If he was really as repulsed by sodomy as he pretended to be, he would have been horrified by what happened in this country with Obama's full support.

I'm surprised this guy is outright promoting his Planned Parenthood endorsement and campaign for "LGBTQ rights" on his website, most "ministers" (unless they are from some hard left quasi-church denomination like Unitarian) at least pay lip service to being "personally" opposed to abortion, even if they publicly support it all the way.

Since this guy is a self-proclaimed "Baptist" and "Evangelical Christian", I wonder when he was "saved" and "accepted Jesus". I'd love to be the fly on the wall during this guy's phony conversion.
