Those three judges were judges that McConnell could get through the Senate. I doubt that any of the three is a true conservative - certainly in the case of Barrett, there were all kinds of signs that she wasn't a strong conservative.

My God. That is astounding to me... It sounded as if TX had an excellent argument. Surely, nearly half of the nation has a right to be heard by the SCOTUS right? Perhaps they were concerned that they’d be forced to recuse.

Many commentators, Steve Deace prominent among them, have observed that the remaining justification for supporting the Republican Party is, or was, its role in appointing conservative judges and justices.

Now, every conservative is compelled to question of what use is the Republican Party? If the Supreme Court can abdicate its most fundamental duty in maintaining the integrity of our national election, what good is it anyway? If the Supreme Court cannot rise to this challenge what good is it? What good is the political party that points to this feckless court as the main reason for its own existence?

To speak of the Republican Party in these terms is to leave unexplored the question of the difference between the Trump party and the Republican establishment. Just as the Democrats are bound to tear themselves apart seeking to control the Biden presidency, so the Republicans must finally define themselves.

Whether the Republican Party continues along the track laid down by Trump realigning itself away from the country club set, away from the establishment, and aligning itself with the middle-class or whether it reverts to the Mitch McConnell party that can arouse itself only for an election and, pointlessly, to nominate judges.

Expect a great upheaval soon in both parties.

Alito and Thomas only wanted the case to be heard. Neither one of them was willing to grant the immediate injunctions sought by Texas in the case, which tells me they didn’t expect Texas to ultimately prevail.

This case was a real stretch from the start. If a state runs a rigged election, the parties who have standing to contest it are the citizens and leaders of that state.

I often shed tears for this wonderful president. It is disgusting how he has been ripped apart by the left. I can’t tell you how much I hate them. All of them. They are vile and I hope they suffer dearly for their crimes.

I still find it hard to believe that after all of this, all of the amazing accomplishments, all of the assurances by various people to “trust the plan”, “it’s going to be epic”, “it’s going to be Biblical”, “nothing can stop what is coming”.....and it ends like THIS? Prophecy about Trump serving 2 terms were wrong? I just don’t get it. It makes no sense to me.
