...The lawsuit, announced on Tuesday by the Republican attorney general of Texas Ken Paxton, targeted the election battleground states of Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Trump has falsely claimed he won re-election and has made baseless allegations of widespread voting fraud....

They are getting worried. Pulling out all of the buzzwords at once.
They are getting worried.
*************
They should be. We are getting fed up.
I’d prefer they be terrified
In all seriousness, from PDJT’s Twitter feed...he said, intervene.
Without sarcasm, facetiousness, what does anyone think, “intervene” will look like? I’m looking for real ideas, not memes or other. I haven’t a clue...3 branches of separate of government...
Is Ted Cruz presenting to the SCOTUS, “intervening” ...?
They’re not even pretending to report facts now. Straight propagandizing.
“Baseless” reporting from professional liars.
He should just be quiet and let them get to it.
I have been saying I am not sure I can continue to hold myself back during a long period of the leftist biased news media saying those and similar things and laughing in our faces that they got away with stealing an election.
It is taking a lot of energy and a toll on my health.
I wish he would stand aside and let Texas present the case. This case is based entirely on Art II and the Constitutional mandate that legislatures have the sole power of deciding how the electors are chosen. No fraud, no cheating, only the Constitution. It is best Trump stay out of it.
Intervene might not be the word meant.
Probably means filing amicus briefs.
Intervene is a technical legal term meaning he and/or his campaign will attempt to become a party. Normally, one accomplishes this in a federal case by petitioning the court under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure to be allowed to join the lawsuit as what is known as a “Plaintiff-Intervenor.” That would make him a party aligned with the Plaintiff in the case at hand in front of the Supreme Court.
Wow. It takes four people to write this very short fake news story.

Fed up with all the corruption Trump has uncovered in the last 4 years. Patience with the US Supreme Court. My gut feeling tells me the three Justices Trump installed ( all Christians) will abide by their deeply held beliefs and triumph over the corrupted elections. I hope and pray THREE God fearing justices will beat the hundreds of thousands of haters, mega bucks America hating social media companies, and totally corrupted news agencies.
Trump tweeted “We will be INTERVENING in the Texas (plus many other states) case.
Intervening is a procedure used in a lawsuit by which the court allows a third person who was not originally a party to the suit to become a party, by joining with either the plaintiff or the defendant.
The case currently is a State vs State case giving original jurisdiction to SCOTUS. The argument is that SCOTUS has jurisdiction to hear this because it cannot possibly be resolved in any other venue as it is State vs State.
The counter argument by law professors is that if Trump is a party, then it no longer is State vs State and thus other venues are available so SCOTUS should deny the case.
I have no idea either. IMHO, it’s likely to be something none of us have thought of yet.
None of the “usual suspects” (martial law; invocation of the Insurrection Act; implementation of his 2018 EO) seems to “fit”. My $.02 only. :-)
Three co-equal branches. So if the Court fails to come to the right conclusion, then by “co-equality,” either the Congress or the President can come to a different conclusion. That’s extreme, but a possibility.
But as far as “intervene” goes, I think the tweet means “get involved” which could take the form of joining legal teams, sharing evidence, drumming up other state plaintiffs, etc...
I like that; it’s concise, and catchy. Where did you find it?
Thanks for the explanation. “Intervene” sounds like an action you would take to stop something from happening.
