Okay, puts them on the spot but I still figure Robert’s will thread the needle, say constitution violated but votes stand as voters must be respected. Siding with fake voters is not respecting real voters.

Precisely.
For the good of the Republic, the Supreme Court should hold for the Texas plaintiffs 9-0.
After all, they all took a solemn oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution.
Clearly, the Constitution is ascendant here.

What a hot mess.
Roberts going to be in the hot seat trying to appease his liberals friends and Jeb.

I still figure Robert’s will thread the needleRoberts no longer has power.
Alito, Thomas, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Barrett are a majority without him.

Allan Dershowitz (sp?) said it’s a creative idea but it’s not likely to succeed. He gave the Texas Attorney General an A+ for trying.
Has Jonathan Turley weighed in yet? He’ll probably throw cold water on it too.
Other states should join this. I hope it’s not just a stunt and last-ditch effort on the part of Texas politicians.

Being docketed only means the Court has received the petition. EVERY case is docketed. Does not mean they will hear it.Something else will happen, if only that it gets removed from the docket.

"This means that there are at least three Justices that want to hear the cases. But does it mean that there are Five Justices that will accept testimony , evidence and arguments and then actually order forensic recounts and remedies? The future of the country rests in the hands of five Justices."Roberts is in the minority now, so yeah, either Alito or Gorsuch are leading a 5-4 decision right now.
And I've pointed this out repeatedly. There are only in extremis remedies - void the current vote and order a new vote, or void the current void and remand to the legislatures for a slate of electors.

I read 75% of the document, all the arguments were strictly constitutional in nature. Angle of attack is violation of the state constitution.

I think it will either be 9-0 decision or 8-1 (with Roberts being the one dissenter). I don’t think he is allowed to vote against the Dems.
To: Presbyterian Reporter
Where did you read the four defendant states have until the 9th to respond?
Thanks.
