WASHINGTON - In late July, officials with the administration’s Operation Warp Speed said when Covid-19 vaccines were imminent there would be a tightly targeted four to six week national campaign to encourage Americans to get the shots. Now, with multiple vaccines finally on the horizon, state health officials tell NBC News they have not yet seen materials from the federal government.
Data shows there’s reason to be concerned about the American public’s willingness to sign up for shots. While recent polls indicate an increasing number of Americans willing to take the vaccine, the latest STAT/Harris poll shows at least 42 percent are still reluctant.
The federal government recently shifted its public health education strategy, amid media and congressional scrutiny related to alleged politicization of the message. Following a review ordered by the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, the department canceled a $15.1 million contract that included work with members of the entertainment industry.
Some immunization experts have criticized the slow approach by the federal government.
“We know that among some segments of our country, there exists a dangerous skepticism about the value of vaccination,” said Jenny Rosenberg, who ran communications for the Office of the Surgeon General during the Obama administration. “Overcoming this hurdle — which for some people may be completely rational, given our nation's mixed history with some misguided policies of the past — should already be well underway.”

Gee, NBC, you don’t listen to what he says at any point.
The media needs to MAKE UP THEIR MINDS. They have to know that if Trump comes out strongly for the vaccine, half of the country (the Left half) simply WILL NOT VACCINATE.
Stupid-ass demand of Trump, at least if they really do want people to get vaccinated.
It’s not like NBC and ALL of the other media has vilified everything that Trump does. No, nothing like that.

How many people will get the vaccine who are already unknowingly infected? Whenever I’ve received the annual flu shot, there is a question about whether I am sick now. Also, if it is true it has been circulating since last year, how many people really already had it in the USA? Possibly tens of millions, with little to no consequence to most people.
Why should we trust such a crook as the Trump Administration NBC?

They are going to force you to take this vaccine. Either through work, or as a requirement for admittance to a lot of places.
If you’re not living off the grid, you’ll be forced to take it.
NBC spends months denigrating the vaccine so as to damage the President’s Covid response image in the eyes of the public, then whines about the President not blowing wads of tax dollars on Hollywood celebrity endorsements of the vaccine.
Any vax has risk. If the disease it is aimed at is frightening enough people will risk it. A rushed vax for a not really deadly disease is a hard sell.
Good. Trump needs to back off on pushing rhis vaccine and needs to absolutely reject any effort to make it mandatory for anyone.
If even ONE person dies from the vaccine he will get endlessly crucified and blamed 100% for rushing it.
I’m not taking it, period. After 10+ months close direct exposure (I’m an RN), I am 100% certain that I’m already immune.
I've never had a flu shot and the last flu bug I had was in the early 1960s.
I'm 77 and am rather isolated in the winter because it's damn cold here in upstate. No vaccine for me.
For years, all we have heard at the doctor's office is...It's a virus...nothing we can do.
The media and the left want to exploit this for as long as possible to keep the public’s attention off of election fraud. Despite the hype very few people actually know someone who has actually died from Covid. Most who do are like my wife and I who know someone who was counted as dying from Covid but actually died of something else. Her brother had a cancerous brain tumor. Tests were not available earlier this year; his death was called “presumptive covid” by CDC guidelines. There was no evidence that he even died WITH Covid other than he stopped breathing, more likely from too much morphine.
If there is anyone left to execute after the dust settles, then we didn't do it right.
Jeez, NBC News, just have the FDA get over its “we’re taking our sweet time” approach to approval and approve the vaccines for release. This isn’t the 1950s where much of the trial data needing analysis was paper based and/or unconsolidated. It’s 2020 and all the data was given to the FDA on digital, structured files with data that can be queried and reported in any combination of data values desired.
FDA, get off your asses and bring it up to “warp speed” just like everybody else involved has done.

This is funny. For 9 months they said we were prisoners until we had a vaccine. Then a vaccine became available and now they say we should be scared of it. Can’t have anything positive about Trump until after Biden gets inaugurated I guess.
Wasn’t Trump traditionally anti-vax?
We don’t need a vaccine for a disease with a 99.9% survival rate.
