The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director cautioned Wednesday that the unprecedented ferocity at which the Chinese coronavirus is plaguing the country would make the next few months “the most difficult in the public health history of this nation” before vaccines become widely available.
Speaking at an event hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Robert Redfield stressed that roughly nine out of every ten hospitals in the country and another 90 percent of long-term care facilities are in areas with high infection levels.

They are desperately trying to keep people from gathering in groups to plan a revolution. That is the ONLY reason they are going berserk over this.
But don’t worry. All that survive until then will be cured by wearing masks for 100 days starting January 20.
In 2018 there were stories about how the flu was “overwhelming US hospitals” also.
So basically the CA governor (for example, who has just linked lockdowns to less than 15% ICU capacity) has decreed that nothing can reopen until all disease (or need for ICUs) is eradicated.
Perhaps we can expand our ICU beds and hire nurses rather than shutting down the entire economy.

The people MUST refuse any more of this. We MUST return to normal, pre-COVID hysteria life. If we don't, we will be thralls to the government forever.
Bravo Sierra. I read in the John Hopkins report that there is no statistical increase in deaths across all age groups before vs after the WuFlu nonsense. Heart disease, pneumonia, regular flu, etc, deaths have dropped in amounts equal to the increase in WuFlu coded deaths. That is not what happens in a pandemic.
Is WuFlu real. Sure. But it is not a pandemic. More like a super flu. WuFlu is not polo, or small pox, or cholera, or typhoid.

They can look at data in previous years and forecast how many die in given months. IF you take that data and attribute ALL of those deaths on Covid (and not drug ods, heart attacks, car accidents and cancers) then you end up with a scary number. By manipulating the data you get the wanted results, same as a Presidential election.
Exactly right, and citizens are getting fed up. The Governors issuing these draconian orders are NOT Kings. They rule by consent of the governed, We the People.
Heck, the psycho Health Director of Pennsylvania was not even elected. Now they are ordering people to wear the stupid mask in their own homes, even if they are alone.

let me get this straight: we have a million ways to treat covid now, the mortality rate is way down - and we get high drama? and the prescriptive is to lockdown, proven to not stop the virus and masks most of which do not stop the virus droplets. are we this dumbed down?

It’s a virus and a virus will do what a virus will do despite masks, social distancing, and lockouts. Death rate is less than 1%. We’re being scammed.

As I posted on another thread (my apologies for reposting it here!), we have already surrendered most of our rights and liberties without a fight...the state has essentially nationalized businesses by shutting them down, seized private property by forbidding its free use by its actual owners, shut down freedom of movement, suppressed all non-government forms of association, ranging from families to volunteer organizations to churches, by forbidding them to assemble...and now it’s going for the very air we breathe.
And because we just accepted it, the state has now grown so powerful that I don’t know what recourse we have.
