New York City’s top doctor Tuesday warned that those vulnerable to COVID-19, as well as their household members and caregivers, should stay home when possible — and wear masks “at all times.”
Urging what amounts to a self-imposed second lockdown on the group, the de Blasio administration said in a statement, “Effective immediately, the City’s Health Commissioner is advising older adults and people with underlying health conditions who are at an increased risk of severe COVID-related illness to limit activities outside the home, except leaving home to travel to work or school, or for essential purposes including medical care, grocery shopping or pharmacy necessities.
“The advisory also applies to household members and caregivers of these individuals,” the notice said.
“Those covered by this advisory should also wear a face covering at all times indoors and outdoors,” the statement said.

Mayor Bill de Blasio, who appeared with city Health Commissioner Dave Chokshi and other city officials at a press conference Tuesday, said the city’s daily latest positive test rate was 5.7 percent, or nearly a percentage point over its warning threshold.

Masks make people sick...prove me wrong
Governor Cuomotose quickly followed up with a statement that at risk people should not consider themselves to be prisoners in their own homes but to weigh risks and take precautions as they see fit.
Seriously.
The Guv and Hizzoner have the good cop/bad cop thing down perfectly.
Should they hide under their dining room table too? You know, just in case COVID tries to sneak up and grab them in their house.
Funny how the very same guys that killed the most people with Covid will not stop giving others advice.
I think this is the latest thing...imprisoning people over 65, who are probably troublesome anyway (the most dedicated mask-wearers and most terrified people I have seen are the young).
A friend who is an organist in Mexico invited an older friend to come to hear him play at mass in the local church. The priest scolded her for coming to church because she was over 65.
Later the priest apologized and said that he was happy to have her at mass, but that the government was spying on them and would either fine or close the church if it turned out that older people were attending. I don’t know if it was a Mexican national law or if it was just the law of that state.
But I’ve seen ominous things here too about how people over “a certain age” should be locked up...er, I mean, stay safe.
I think we’re gonna have to get ready for a remake of Logan’s Run.
Everyone has been wearing masks for nine months and now we have this big spike in cases.
The masks did nothing.
Every leftist has some excuse how we started too late, didn’t wear them enough, etc. Masks are the new religion for the left.
Don’t you dare question it, they would have worked of you bowed down to the altar of Dr. Fraud who says don’t wear them, then wear them, but not outside, then outside, etc.
